Hello

I have had my application in, just 6 days short of 6 months with no updates.. Passed my medicals and only ghost emails since then. I called Citizenship and Immigration Canada and the lady I spoke with informed me that when you are past or closer to the 6 month line, then they have everything they require from your application. She told me to call once the 6 month wait has elapsed, did you call them to let them know that you are way over 6 months now? (I work in Canada)

Trust me , everyone here tried everything they can; after the six month wait period the answer you will get is " Sir, your application is in Process" ; It's like WTF , we know that it's in process that why I F********************* calling you , lol

It's just so frustrating , I wonder if the people who work at the call center are immigrants lol ; canadians aren't this bad lol , just kidding ,

All the best guys

HILARIOUS!! Hahaha!! Well, I guess that's that.. Hopefully they will adhering by their promises of "6 months or less" soon lol.

Good luck! 8)

The call center people can't help processing your application faster, they can only tell you about the current status.

I sent my passport via FedEx from the US. Was able to include a return label without any issues. It probably helps to have an account with them--it's free to open one. You can then create the shipment (to and from Ottawa) at the self service kiosk at the FedEx store. Make sure to complete the customs forms for both ways. I got my documents back without any problem in about 2 weeks.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Thank you. I ended up doing just this with UPS.

WHOA!!! :o :o :o That's insane, I guess this whole "process your visa in 6 months or less" was really a lie lol. They are also dealing with a lot of applications plus the Syrian refugees.. safe to say that this is probably going to be like doing an ordinary application for us.. wait a year kinda thing; eeeekkk!! Good Luck man, I'll post any additional info I might get here :)

They just said that they will process the application in 6 months post your application is completely submitted. The time taken by each of us to arrange all the required documents and then CIC taking time to complete the application turns out to be the same time they used to take before, 1 year. There are people who are unlucky and we can't really be sure what is the reason though even after CIC agents informing that they have all the documents and all other standard responses. We can just hope that everything goes smoothly with any major bumps. Hang in there 8) 8) 8)

CIC made a commitment to process applications within 6 months after AOR
So, what you said is just your guess.

Nope, CIC said that they will try to process most of all application within 6 months. "…committed to process the majority of applications in six months or less."

CIC said "We expect to process most applications for permanent residence through the Express Entry system in six months or less, after we get a complete application.", not all the applications.

Unfortunately for whatever reasons we are not within the 'most applications'.
I believe the AOR you are referring to is not the automated confirmation email (or the so called 1st AOR) you received when you submit the application. The application is considered complete only when a CIC agent (human) review your application for completeness and mark "R10 OK" in GCMS.

Indeed, good news! Congratulations!

It's hard to say. Normaly people receive these updates at first month (or second). And then it's about 2-4 months of waiting.
