Anything in your file that may have delayed processing? Eg. multiple travels, nature of job, country of origin?
I don't think there's anything that complicated. I had just one single job, worked at a government organization. And travels, just a couple of them, one being to Canada itself. :/

Country of origin, I don't think it's such an issue as well.

I'm waiting for my GCMS notes to find out what is causing the delay.

Reached 7 months now, don't know what the hell is going on. :/

I've left my job as well and am sitting at home, waiting for the PPR....
I had a government job and because of the time they take for all the procedures, I thought I will get my visa within 6 months and resigning in time would be better because I didn't want to face any unwanted delays after getting my visa.

It's getting really frustrating... :(
You are too optimistic.

I bet it's the government job. I suspect it's the same in my case.

I thought my case was pretty straightforward... and left my job after getting AOR. Also, had some issues with my employer which forced me to resign earlier.

I needed PCC, and the issuing authority said, being a government employee, I have to get a no-objection certificate from my employer. The HR department at my workplace said that won't be possible unless an employee is leaving and has submitted the resignation letter (funny, right?)...

Long story short, I (already pissed off) gave my resignation earlier than I thought I should. Even then, I had to go back and forth following them painstakingly to get my effing letter to get a PCC in time...

It's fun working with government organizations, right? :-X

Why would a government job cause a delay? The slowness of government organizations in correspondence [for verification etc] or something else?

I think that a government job in your history triggers a full-blown security screening, much more in-depth than for other application. Or so I was told. I can't give you any real proof of this though.

Ah, I see. Well, let's see how long it takes. The irony is, my visa office hasn't given any response to my email about the status enquiry.

Agree! I have a same problem. I worked as a Junior Engineer for a company that was working for the government...

Interestingly, I had the same issue when I wanted to renew my visa 2 years ago. When the processing time was only 8 weeks and mine took 12-14 weeks!
I am just wondering why they do this every time?!? Don't they have access to my files based on my earlier applications? I bet they do!

So, most of us stuck here have had government jobs? I hope IRCC comes up with more efficient ways to deal with cases like ours, then.

I know! I was thinking how they could clearly see a government job in my work history yet they only started my background check after 5 months. Wouldn't it make sense to initiate that right away?

There's sure plenty of room for the improvement and I hope IRCC is looking at that. Let's just hope this wait ends soon...

Well, it also depends the country you worked for.
I see your VO is in the middle east. I am also from the middle east.
I don't think if (for example) someone from Australia would have the same issue...

No too sure. I am from the EU and worked there and still going through this stupid wait.

Everyday I want to resign my job but I fear of rejection of my application. SGVO is very strict, last week they rejected about 50 fsw 2014 applications, they simply said job description is not match with noc.

Hmmm! So, I'm wrong...
At least I know that it's not my nationality that made all these.
BTW, last Friday and today has been so quiet.
