Here is my time line.
1.We received your application for permanent residence on March 3, 2016.
2.We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on Aug 2, 2016.
3.We started processing your application on Aug 18, 2016.
4.Got request for PRPF fee and bio copy of passport with medical request and done at the same day
5.Medical results have been received. (I got medical request on Aug 22,16 and made 5 Sep, 2016)
And I checked my CIC on Oct,5,2016, the Background changed to "in progress".

Today marks 9 months and 6 days since my AOR APRIL 26th 2016. CEC Inland applicant

Last contact to CIC was made around a month ago, with same generic response of "Background check is in-progress".

I pray for everyone here, to get the golden email sooner than later.

Since my TRV was expired, I have also applied for TRV yesterday. Hopeful to receive by next week.

Today received an email from ndvo to re do medicals .It has kindled some hope.Guys wish me luck

Guys after much awaited wait and confusion I received my ppr yesterday!! my case seems weird as I did not receive it in mycic account or in any form of communication. I had ordered GCMS notes and it was out yesterday, it said that everything was approved yet I hadn't received any communication in mycic account or e-mail.

Hence i raised a CSE to my local VO(Pretoria) and surprisingly they responded quickly saying they had sent out the letter on 19th Dec 2016 itself!! I told them that i hadn't received it and to send again.
So they said there seems to be glitch in systems hence they cant re-send it to mycic account and to consider the attachment as passport request with instructions on next steps. There it was, the golden e-mail!!

So guys I highly recommend you to raise a CSE to your local VO, if u know which visa office is processing your application, so that there is no chance of miscommunication! Hope my post helps people who are waiting just like me.

Congratulations!!! So glad you sorted it out. Can't believe you had to wait for so long, but glad they were at least very responsive.
