S.15(1), and any other numbers refer to the Access to information act, article 15. clause 1, 2, 3... Depending on which one they need to use for yor particular case. It has absolutely nothing to do with the security being over/not over, nor number of ppl or entries in your application.

Yes, I know.

Any update/movement about your file?

Nope, nothing. Security still in progress.

Guys! Do you know about CBSA? Does it work with CIC on Oultander's immigration screening like CSIS?

For immigration screening, IRCC also works closely with CBSA & RCMP.

Some details about the role of CBSA in immigration screening are given here:

You're welcome. Now, I'm interested in knowing how can I contact CBSA for my immigration screening status enquiry. I guess, as CSIS has already completed its review of my file months back, CBSA might be responsible for the delay.

I think here's where I should try to contact them.

Thank you for reminding me about the CBSA, Fatemeh Njm. :) +1

Still pending from CSIS? Were you able to get this information from the IRCC call center?

Que Em! many thanks again. You gave me a full package of information I needed because I was going to ask CBSA about my security screening.

Just want to have a quick check. So far, anyone (or know someone) get PPR since the email from SGVO that there's news from them from 4-6 weeks. This week Wednesday will be the last day of the 6 weeks.

One of my friend did receive PPR since then.

Please advise

Well I'm not sure. CSIS never responded to my inquiries, and the call centre didn't want to give me specific info. I always seem to come across one of the annoyed/rude agents.

It seems this is the missing link: CBSA... Upon doing some more reading online, it appears that CIC sends security screening requests directly to CBSA - and they, in turn down their own security screening, which relies on external agencies, such as RCMP, CSIS, and security agencies in applicant's home country. That would explain why so many applicants here have checked with CSIS, to be told that their security check has been completed, whereas they havent received their PPR's yet.

The only important question now is, how to follow up with CBSA and get them to speed up the results of their security checks!

Cheers,
msf

Well, if CSIS doesn't respond to your request(s) you can file a complaint by writing to the Director of the Service at the following address:

Director
Canadian Security Intelligence Service
P. O. Box 9732
Postal Station “T”
Ottawa, Ontario
K1G 4G4

If you are not satisfied with the Director's response, or if you do not receive a response within a reasonable time (usually 30 days), you may then submit your complaint to SIRC, including the response, if any, received from the Director of CSIS. You may contact SIRC as follows:

Security Intelligence Review Committee
P.O. Box 2430,
Station “D”
Ottawa, Ontario
K1P 5W5

Telephone: (613) 990-8441
Fax: (613) 990-5230

Link: http://www.sirc-csars.gc.ca/cmpplt/mkeprt-eng.html

However, I suggest that you try calling IRCC call center a few times first and try to find a nice/polite agent. If s/he can tell you where your file is stuck or if you can get some useful information like some others have reported here, it might save you the hassle.

It is quite frustrating that we have to track/follow the processing of our files after being delayed for no apparent reason.
