Hi all,

We received PPR yesterday as well. 30 day limit to send the passport.
Timeline; Submitted the documents on May 19, PPR yesterday. FSW, outside Canada

For those who got PPR outside Canada, I see two option to send passport.
1) To request them for address where you can send it near your country of residence
2) mail to to some family/friends in USA or Canada and then ask them to send it to the address mentioned in the PPR letter, and then later send it back to you.

Do you know which one is faster or better?

I send an email to ask them for where I should send the passport for my location (Germany), an dthe auto response says the normal response time is 20 days. In that time, my passport will be there, if I go through process 2) above.

any recommendations ?

Congratulations Patreya!
Were you asked to submit any additional documents before PPR?

Yes and No.

I had only submitted printout of my bank statements during the initial application. Later I realized this, and send them a proper document from Bank manager. I then emailed it to them from one of the online forms. I got a response back in 2-3 days that it was also included in the application. It is a US bank account, so maybe that helped.

So if you have any doubts regarding your submitted documents, its better to create more proof and then send them, rather than regret later. It is not guaranteed that it will be included, but in my case it did. So no harm in trying.

Apart from that, I had no interaction with them. They have not asked for any additional documents, just passport, photo, and self addressed return envelope. I send them an email regarding the local embassy in Germany, hopefully I will hear back from them in few days.

Wow! Congrats mate! May 15 AOR inland still waiting here. PPR mentioned an address where you need to send passport? Where is it? If you prefer option 1, then you'd better call cic to confirm.

Another phenomena which I see (correct me if I am wrong):

It appears most June 19 in process are outlanders

while August 13/14 are mostly inlanders.

most of them got their initial AOR from April and May (probably few even from June?)

Correct me if you have a different example, this seems to be what I can see from the discussion in this and few other threads.

I got my 'In Process' August 17th (Tuesday) though it could have changed before that I'm not sure as I didn't check for a few days.

I'm an inland applicant so my situation conforms to your theory.

Submitted passport copies (inland) on Friday, Aug 14. Arrived Monday, MyCIC updated this morning to approved.

Waiting for return tracker to activate.

AM I REJECTED

Question for those who have applied inside Canada but are outside now. I got the ITA on April 17, AOR May 8th, but I had to leave the country due to expiration of work permit. I sent a Case Specific Inquiry letting them know that around June, but until now nothing has changed on my application and mail address on ECAS still the address in Canada.

I didn't get the passport request yet, but following other people with same situation, it looks like that they do not acknowledge the country change. Should I send an email now asking which visa office will I send the passport when I get the request? I want to do that in advance because they take up to 20 days to answer and I really don't want to sit on the request waiting for them to send me the address. I am in Brazil now.

Does anyone knows the email for this type of inquiry?
Thanks

If the mail you received says your mycic account has been "updated" and not you have "new message" in mycic account. So the update is with regards to your background check in mycic going to "in progress" from "not needed at this time".

All the best.
