talking about 2 year pg diplomas in business(wid specialization)..theres this one business course in lambton college..to top it off its along with a co-op work placement as well...the only nd d biggest negative attached to it is the place where its located..sarnia..which is fairly a non-remote place so.. one wil find it tough to come up wid part time jobs in dat area..odrwise, that course ticks all the right places as far as- course duration,co-op and living expenses are concerned.
My concern is also same as yours ...

And moreover, I did not find its name on the ranking list of Canada's universities + colleges, which I happened to stumble upon in this forum

http://www.webometrics.info/en/North_america/Canada

yeah well it does come up on the 2nd page....126th rank compared to 49 of george brown.
damn dats realy unfortunate... i mean u hav d best dat a college can offer at lambton but it comes at a price..
might as well have to go with george brown instead...

hey you have any idea regarding humber??..read some controversial reviews from a guy named 'pissed' ,apparently on dis website itslf...
apart from that i hav my relatives in canada..who on d odr hand say..dat its one of d biggest colleges and has an awesome reputation in its name...someone to support this claim or should i start anoder topic regarding dis? :-X

dont just make one plan for PR check if there is a back up plan as PR programs change and by the time (2years) u finish ur course there may not be the same PR program available. Most of the time after course people start looking for a job but since they dont find it fast they start doing odd jobs(to pay rent and get by) and now because of doing odd jobs they have less time for real job search so avoid that trap....

Hi guys, good to see lots of information in this thread.... I applied for Info Sys Business Analysis program at GBC for JAN Intake.
As I went through your discussion, some doubts popped up in my mind....

1. You were speaking about PR plans... What could be a PR plan.. Can you explain me how to plan for PR because I dont have one. Can you explain your PR plans, if you are fine with sharing them.

2. I hear that Job markets in Toronto are not that good these days... Any views on that.... (I saw one of you say that they have a family in canada, their views could a worthy one).

Please help me on this.
thanks.

I believe it is the planning that had to be done to choose a right course (of the right duration) in a province where it is easier to get a PR after having obtained a PGWP.

But having said that, I think rather than relying on easy - to - get - PR provinces, we should concentrate more on the course we are choosing and the college / university + the course contents. As it is the right education from the right place that shall help us lay a strong foundation to our past experience and land on the right job.

I recently had a conversation with a graduate of SRM - George Brown College. He told me that getting the first job in Toronto is hard. But there are a lot of opportunities present. And if we have rightfully nurtured our skill set during college time and made the right contacts, then chances always remain strong. And for those who want are not sure of themselves, they can either carry on with another 1yr grad diploma to be eligible for a 3yr PGWP or move to provinces like saskatchewan, Alberta...
