This morning's happening re email of CIC requesting payment of RPRF

Hi guys,

I am the person who posted "very strange thing happened" topic a few hours ago. As so many of us, you, seem confused about this email and ask questions among themselves only in their own topic category/room, I'd like to share the official info that I got from the CIC agent at 1:30pm, after I myself got this bizarre email from CIC. "The email was a legitimate CIC email by the Ottawa office, but it was a mistake"

After an hour and half's attempt to connect with the CIC, I finally got a hold of an agent and she ran to the next room to verify that an agent in Ottawa office made a mistake this morning to send out the request of RPRF payment email to almost all files that in backlog including the one's already closed or made a decision for. It means that the email was sent out without discerning each and every case or NOT based on individual review. However, you DON"T need to worry, even if you already paid the RPRF based on that email of this morning, because you would eventually get the payment request email based on CIC's review on your own file. The people who already paid RPRF before receiving this email, you guys can simply ignore it. It was a person's mistake!

But why did some people including me not get that email. I am an Oct 10th applicant and my casefile has to be in ottawa too as I applied inland.

I guess now we become paranoid.. It was a mistake, meaning that the agent who made this error did not do the job correctly without selecting the right recipient of that email. So, I think, the ones who received that payment request emails are the one that should have been worried, not you, who, correctly, did not receive it. So, don't worry. If you are still worried, call them tomorrow as early as possible. In the afternoon, I waited an hour an half.

Well one other person posted he also called CIC and they confirmed its a genuine batch email, so many people who already received RRPF request got it too, I have seen this happening in the case of requesting batch PCC. So whats right or whats wrong you cant say at this moment. We have to wait.

1. Probably a real screw up, on another forum persons who had already been refused received requests for RPRF.

This is not fair for people who have been waiting a whole year for their application to be processed.

some people are getting another email saying that the earlier one was sent out in mistake.

I got that letter already in Okttober 2015, payd the fees samen day,got approval for the payment one day later. but since then nothing happened and the application is still under investigation.
