I applied for PR and submitted my e-APR on Aug 14th last month. I am from India but my Visa office turned out to be Ottawa.

Since I submitted documents, I haven't heard anything from the Ottawa Visa office or from CIC. In fact, I haven't seen any change in my Profile Status in my EE dashboard. The profile status was "Blank" and no text was written in it.

As it was more than a month, so I raise a technical issue query with the CIC to confirm if it is technical glitch or my profile status is in fact blank.

Now coming to the weird part:
Out of no-where, I got a mail from Ottawa office today from address
IRCC.CPCO-FinalRequest-CTDO-DemandeFinale.IRCC@cic.gc.ca with subject Ready for Visa / Prêt pour Visa asking me to go to VFS and show the email to get a secure Passport/Photograph mailer service and sent the Passport/Photograph to New Delhi office.

What's going on?
This happened to me back in March. My medicals were passed, but background check was "NA." Out of nowhere, 90 days to the day, I got the email at 11pm. If you got the email, it's legit.

Thanks :). That was quick. I wasn't hoping it for another 3-4 months at least.
I see you have received yours on Sep 01. So how did you proceed from there?

1. Which document did you send to New Delhi. It was mentioned to send PP, 2 photos and copy of the email. Anything else? - Return Envelope (it should have been mentioned in the email if they want this too)
Do we need to have applicant/digital studio info mentioned on the back of both photos or just one? - I did put on just one. Also, FYI.. Hand written info is fine. Try to use light hand while writing it. In my case I had photographer's stamp and my details hand written
2. How many days does it take VFS to parcel the documents to New Delhi? - Mine is Ottawa so no idea about it.
3. Any info on expected time taken by NDVO to complete formalities and stamping done? - 30 - 40 days is processing time for Ottawa. I am assuming that the same should be for Delhi too.

Hey,

Program- FSW

I too got email today from CPC- Ottawa stating that I need to submit my passport through VFS to Canadian High Commission in New Delhi wrt. my permanent residence application. Three questions:
1. My CIC account still says application under review. Is it safe to send passport now . Any idea when does the account get suitably updated?

2. How much time will I be given to land in Canada with my PR Visa and COPR once I get my passport from VFS? Will it be few months (6 months) at least as notice period in my current job is 3 months. Why I am asking this is because if I am given only 1 month to land and have to stay for at least 1 month in Canada , then how can I manage 1 month leave from my job when I have 3 months notice period to serve. I am all confused here.

3. Is it necessary that we have to mandatorily stay in Canada till we receive our PR card ? Is it possible for me to land and return back in 1 week and then go again and collect my PR card which by then would have been delivered to the Canadian address?

Pls help.

Pls reply urgently!

Thanks.

It is safe to send the PP as this mail is PPR and it has timeline as well - 30 days. No one knows when it will be updated in your online profile.

This will be atleast 1 year from your medical. So in case you have done your medical in July, so I suppose you will be allowed to land till June next year. There are times when applicant is allowed to land beyond that time. Special circumstances I don't have much info about. In this case, they have to take and pass the medical again.

3. Is it necessary that we have to mandatorily stay in Canada till we receive our PR card ? Is it possible for me to land and return back in 1 week and then go again and collect my PR card which by then would have been delivered to the Canadian address?
I guess one has to stay. Not sure about it though.

Pls help.

Thanks. I have 1 quick question. I am getting to know from the forum that PR visa is valid for 1 year for FSW from the date when medical is passed. Can you pls tell me where it is written as I don't see in CIC website? Or is it from the trend of people in this forum who got similar ?

It's general guideline for IRCC staff to issue CoPR. You have to have a valid medical when you physically enter Canada and medical is generally valid for 1 year. You will see the actual date printed on CoPR when you get it

Special extension is possible at discretion of the officer but it probably doesn't apply to you.

It's not that Visa is valid till that day. Its that you're suppose to enter Canada when you're in your good health and medical is valid for one year. Usually PR is awarded within a year of the medical done so most of the time you are SUPPOSE to travel to Canada within 1 year of your medical.
As I said earlier, there are also scenario when one travel to Canada after the initial medical expires. Not sure about those scenarios but even in those cases, you're suppose to get your medical done and approved first.

Then again, I am not expert. Just quoting what I have read in this forum here and there. Can't give you exact link of this info as I don't have any. Please DO check with senior members about this query.

Many Congratulations, Brother. So the grand party is just ahead as you promised :).
Hahaha..absolutely :). Actually, this happened so fast. I was not expecting the whole process will be wrapped up in just a month.
I was rooting for atleast 5-6 months.
