I read this comment below from the comments section. I was shocked to learn that this is happening in that land where most of us are hoping to call home in the near future (that is if it will ever come!) Do you think there is something more than meets the eye? If you check the comments (see the link below) you will deduce that, something is seriously wrong!

And of course everybody who writes a comment on a website is telling the absolute and unbiased truth. We have no idea who that person is, did she actually perform work for the government, was there a problem with the work being complete or the quality of the work, did she have a contract to do the work before going ahead with it etc. etc.

We also have no idea what was the gist of the conversation she had with an unnamed bureaucrat but it sounds to me from the comment that she has racist views against immigrants like she is somehow better than us having been born in Canada to Canadian parents.

There seems to be a tendency for certain individuals on this forum to highlight events and end up bashing Canada even though they aspire to immigrate there! At least Canada is a country where the said woman can end up airing her concerns and not fear the repercussions of doing so!

1) Not all Canadians are born in Canada - No one can be trated as a slave - Canadian-born or not.
2) Government pays for goods and services provided to it, regardless of citizenship.
3) The person who wrote this is obviuosly an A S S

We have this forum so that we can discuss about all the immigration issues.We help one another when we encounter difficulties and or fears, even encourage one another etc. In this case there is a link provided and all you should have done is check out the information.

As for the person and her comment. Its sad but hopefully, it is an isolated incident. If more people were not getting paid by the government, then it is a cause for concern. I think if that was happening then we should be worried about (at least) working for the government in Canada. Hopefully it is an isolated incident and I wouldn't worry about it as a potential immigrant.

I would more worry about the article itself. Its going to get difficult everywhere in the world, especially the western world. I mean economically. Bad years in Canada might still be better than good years in some other countries. Its a good time re-skill, re-educate yourself.

I hope this is just an isolated case.

Two wrongs doesn't make it right, I can use same language back to you, the one you never even dreamed or heard of, however I will not do that. Once again your post and website address has no reliable source.

A piece of advise for you, when you go to Canada and if you ever find work with your great attitude, just don't work for Canadian Government. You'll will not get paid.

I know so many people who have immigrated to Canada and leading wonderful life. They have told me that life is hard there and you may have to struggle for a couple of months or so. But I have not heard about any such case. It may be an isolated case, I hope so. But we cannot comment unless we know the circumstances of a particular person. If it has happened to a particular person we should have sympathy. But it cannot be the true picture after all. And we should not get excited at the forum.
