this delay is killing me ....GIC issue

Wow!

I thought I was the only one with this kinda case I have the admit for technical communication program from Seneca, have paid my first semester fees, but Scotiabank has not replied to my original application that I sent on 6th July. I'm freaking out, cuz I still have to get the account number, transfer funds, get the certificate and then apply for Visa. And if we cross the cut off date, then all the efforts are fuitle.

I have also sent a follow up email to Scotiabank and I look for a reply every single minute in the day, middle of the night, every damn second But no good yet.

Their website says that the delay is due to a large incoming volume of applications and they want the applicants to have patience. To top it all they strictly mention not to send unnecessary follow up mails I have no clue what to do!!

Moreover I have called them but they are not responding and even if they respond they always say that they can't give any information about this....just write email...and on email they are not responding......Really fed up with Scotiabank......

Same case is with me...i guess they have stop responding to mails...i can see that we all have the same problem and they haven't responded to anyone since 4th july (they last responded to me on this date)... the staff is not at all supporting and not even bother to tell us the status neither they are extending the deadline....i don't understand how are they operating...Being in a country like canada they are working as if they are in 18th century (no system at all).

They have mentioned kotak mahindra bank and scotia bank (india) helpline numbers but nobody has any information. They just simply say that they don't have any access to any information regarding GIC...then why the hell these numbers are even mentioned.

I seriously think, this idea of security deposit should be stopped and if they want they can ask for some other proofs for the financial status of the student.

This bank is talking about patience and all, how can be a student have patience when they have so tight deadlines also people have arranged for finances from different sources, they have to book air tickets (the cost is growing day by day) and there are other expenses we have to plan post this GIC certificate.

I already resigned from my company 1 month back as to serve the notice period but now i am totally stuck. i don't understsnd now what to do?
If i don't get the visa for this intake then the blame will totally go to Soctia bank. they should have forecasted these things before inspite of telling us to have patience. Seriuously resiculous system.

Heyyyyy all those who have applied for GIC and not transferred funds yet or not got any account details if they don't come under spp please
go for education loan because these scotia bank people are piece of shit and they don't give a dammn about how they are playing with our careers

Hey....i somehow manage to get the account details and transfered the amount on 22nd july which got received on 23rd july but i doubt they will send GIC certificate so soon...as we all know they are not responding since ages...Moreover the visa application deadline is on 1st august, only 4 days left...

i spoke to the visa office and they are saying that, they can just sympathaize but can't do anything as GIC certificate is mandatory under SPP. Even the wire transfer acknowledge certificate may or may not help...

I really don't know what to do?

Hey Ankur,

I didn't forget the password, my a/c has been created on 26th may only but it was automatically deleted due to that 30 days clause...so i found out that i noted the account details somewhere in my diary and i asked my relative who is in canada to check with the bank also.

that's how i got it and transfered the fund on 23rd july but i don't think they are going to issue the certificate till the deadline. but finger crossed... Lets see.

I talked with my consultant today she said students are applying with wire-transfer receipts and explaination in SOP.

No other option !!

i have applied for GIC on 29th june and recieved accpunt details on 17 July transferred funds on 22nd July nd recieved Certificate yesterday i.e 29 July so the whole process takes 1 month student for Jan 2014 intake should apply 1 month earlier so they dont face any problem

I got it on 26/07/2013 at 2.00am ..waited for it endlessly every night

applied on 29th june...got account details on 10th july

did a wire transfer on 18th july and got the certificate on 26th july

Those who have not received there certificates.
Please call on : 0018777000043 (chargeable)

They will take your request then and there itself and forward it to the concerned department, also they will tell you about your Funds (received or not).

I got mine after i called them and they confirmed me that they will sent the certificate in 48hrs but they revert me in 24hrs only
