Hi everyone,

I'm carrying the following things with me. Please tell me.if these are acceptable as per the immigration rules
.
Indian masalas (spices)
Dry fruits
Homemade snacks
Rice and dal (I guess food grains aren't allowed)

Please share your thoughts. People who are there in canada. I'm flying on 26th. I checked cic websites..but just want to be sure.

I just don't want to take the pain of scouting for a proper grocery store immediately after I land. These things might help for a few days. More importantly, are we allowed to carry things like ghee and masalas. Even my lappy runs a pirated version of windows. I'm not sure if that might be a problem or not.

masala is fine dont carry ghee reason if it somehow gets spilled it will spoil a lot of things in ur bag.

u should declare if ur carrying more than $10000 in travelers cheques, cash etc. If ur carrying money under $10000 ur fine however carry all the receipts that u get when u convert currency. It is better to have all the documentation.

Size of bag is determined by your airline. Go check their website.

What you can bring food wise you can check at cbsa website. They have a searchable database of what is and isn't allowed.

This is again a money related query i have..i heard we can carry upto 10K CAD into canada, any form - cash or card..

but is it true that while passing the immigration in india, we cant have more than 3K USD equivalent ( which is more or less 3K CAD ) ?

i will be having 4K cash..will it be a problem ?

No IDEA! Ask them from where you heard it.
Also always check the Customs website for more information rather than second hand info
