Hi guys,
Wanted to give you the pros and cons to help you out when you get to Canada, without knowing anyone!

when we got here last year as a family we brought $40K USD thats four of us.
we landed October 2015
FIRST and Foremost (Thank God and Jesus Christ for giving you this opportunity)
1. First make sure you have an apartment setup already before you leave your country.
2. Make sure you have a financial bank institution that you are setup already when you get here. If you cant? find the nearest bank when you arrive.
3. Do not arrive in winter time thats November to March. If you do arrive make sure you have extra money to buy winter clothes. Please make sure your clothes are fit for -10 to -45 and waterproof and windproof this will help you guys warm up.
4. Do not buy cheap winter clothes its useless! Saving up? or buying more? its the same thing.
5. there is a warehouse for newly immigrants to get free furniture's or 2nd hand furniture's at the north side. But we bought ours at IKEA.(value for money and long lasting)
6. Once you are cozy and settled at your apartment, breathe and plan your budget what to do next.
7. Go to Provincial Start up, TRUST me we though we knew a lot of things already this is important.
8. Get your SIN number, health card. (SIN number will take an hour it depends on how many people waiting. ) Healthcard will take about 15 minutes.
9. Go to ROGERS, SHAW, MTS whatever network provider you need and make sure you get the best, you will need it when you get stranded on ICE.
10. Once you have a phone setup at home, this is important( from license, emergencies, employers will be contacting you to this number.)
11. Be prepared to purchase a 2nd hand car but make sure I dont care how good you are or being cheap, (bring a mechanic and pay the guy to inspect your car) before purchased. Many dealers here Specially NOTT autocorp company who sells luxury cars I thought they were great , but its all the outter appearance, they sold my friend a Car that has engine problem which cost more to fix then the car itself. When we returned it for 3 weeks they said he cant he has to have it fixed. VERY SAD!!! Do not buy from NOTT AUTOCORP , scammers and fakes.
12. 2nd hand car is very useful from getting around when your new. Bus will take awhile to get to the destination you want because of many stops. Also when its winter I dont think your not ready to stand outside for 10minutes at -40 .
13. apply for a job every hour online, people there are not use to giving your credentials door to door. Always online, its faster and safer for you. Apply anything, i mean anything that you love want to do. Make sure you read what you are applying for and job duties, maybe sometimes they need you outside the workarea, like i said when its outside be prepared to stay longer then 10minutes which is really really cold.
Just to set the facts straight. Im use to cold weather, I wear jogging pants, upper thermals and sweater, toque (beanie) thermal gloves at -30, windspeed 15kms.
HERE is the TRUTH:
If you see -25 to 40 but windspeed is 5kms , does not matter i wear the same thing.
but if you see -25 but windspeed is 24kms up? wear 3 to 4 long sleeves and beanie, 2 pants, boots, scarf, ear muffs this will protect your body guaranteed for 20minutes.

I jog everyday at -30 with windspeed 20kms its still ok. The technique is keep on moving if you stop, you will FREEZE guaranteed and money back. ;D

Oh yeah BE PREPARED, when you apply for a job it usually takes 2-4 months they will get it and give you an offer. But when we got here I got my job by 2 weeks. But usually it takes months they will call you. So be patient and pray always.

Advice: I highly suggest enjoy first 2 months dont rush things. But while your enjoying make sure your still applying online for a job. So on the third month you will just be waiting for their response.

Stay blessed!
