Hi all,

OK so I submitted my application on March 23rd. It has been received (ok) and it says "file open" which means it has yet to be processed right?

Today is March 25th. So my VOC is the Paris one. Do you think that I'll have some news throughout this week? I'm not saying I'll have the process done (I know it takes 4 weeks average) but what will comes next?

Cheers,

Hi afrosa,

I applied March 17th and I am still waiting

Hi msh_ca,

Also dealing with Paris?

Does your status says "Open" also?

Thanks

What

Status says " open " :P

Mine
Still under process since 11th march 2014

Hi there shrek,

Thank you also for your reply. So that is what I'm trying to figure out here. When it says "open" what does it means? It means it is wating to be processed or it is actually being processed already? Because from what I learned if it says "Open" it even didn't sart do be processed. Am I right?

And I do ask you the same question I made above. Where did you send your application? To the Paris services?

I've been also trying to figure out if my application will be a smooth one. I'm a lawyer working since 2010 and wanting to do an LLM in Canadian common Law which is a new program for those that wish to become legal practicioners in Canada. But I haven't attacthed any SOP. I think I'll let the services decide if I'll have to make further explanations. I'm also from Portugal, Europe.

So, any more comments on my personal experience?

Hi there shrek,

When it says "open" what does it means?

It means still under process...when it is approved it will show "Application closed and Visa Approved" OR "Application closed and Visa refused"

Right then.
I also says "Not Started" which means I might wait until next week for a first communication I guess...

Guys that submitted an application,

Share some thoughts about the actual processing time with the Paris VAC

Ok guys I know it is early but I applied on March 22snd. Today is March 26th and my status still says Open which means:

"If the status is open, it means that we have received your application. When we begin to process your file, you will be notified of a change in your application status through your account."

I've applied online and since I'm from portugal (exempt) my office is in Paris.

Is it normal or should I already got a mere communication?

It is normal.
The process time is different but usually in online cases it will take max 3 weeks.

Oh cool.

Although I have to say that I'm affraid anything wrong might occur. Because I've applied with the normal documents they aks for, ie, I havent submitted extra documents and they might find odd why does a portuguese lawyer wants to study canadian law...

That is why after reading so many posts over here I begun to stress out and I'm trying to figure out if I may relax you see?

it will take more time. open means a file is in waiting to be reviewed. under processing means a VO has touched ur file and currently working with it.

Damn.... So is it normal to remain open for ,let's say, a week? Let us hope they start processing it as soon as possible...

Because I've read some posts from european guys and it just took like 10 days for them to get their study permits.

Is it true that if they see that your'e short on time they take that into account? For example my classes start in May 12th and I submitted my apoplication on March 22nd.

But hey, the website says 4 weeks as the avarage processing time (Paris VO)....

Hi msh_ca,

Got nay news about your visa?

Mine still says open...
