I contacted my local MP. They talked to CIC and wrote back to me this:

As there is a new way of applying for permanent residency (through the Express Entry program) for your category, priority was given to the EE applications. Therefore, the applications received prior to the EE program are not being processed as quickly as expected.

I was also told that although the processing time as shown on CIC website is currently 14 months, it will be reassessed to reflect the actual processing time, which should be close to 20 months.

This is stupid....
We are all in a soup..

But can't do anything except wait.

We can't go for the EE now, since we have already spent 16 months and lots of money.

Re: Local MP response

That is the truth, they have very few resources working on the old Applications. So it is taking a lot of time.

Only thing i can do is wait

Re: Local MP response

At the rate old CEC applicants are being processed don't be surprised if come 2017 some of us will still be waiting :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[

She is from NDP and yes, she reelected again.

So finally we came to know the reason why CIC stopped processing our applications. No wonder that's the policy of Conservative party!!!
It's up to the Liberal party now. They may change the policy but meantime we have to push as much as possible from our side.

Guys it's time to speak up or else we might as well wait till 2017 maybe then all the ee guys will just fill the quota and we will have another excuse by then!

hi moe, did you got this email as writing or verbally? If it is by writing then there is a reason for getting frustrated, otherwise if it is verbal then it doesn't make more sense and don't spread this info as well until its get materialized.
