I'm curious about other applicants' experience for spousal PR visa rejections. How long was the processing drawn out? How were you told? Were you sent letters as the VO made their case? How soon after an interview was a rejection made?
My husband's visa officer decided to reject his application the day of the interview or the day after. She sent us a letter - to my home in Canada and also to my husband's address in Nigeria; the latter never arrived. I got the letter about a month later.
Do you have a new MP now after the election? If it is an inexperienced one (like an NDPer in Quebec), they probably won't know what to do anyway, but if it is someone with experience they may be willing to help you this time.

I couldn't find the phone number for the program manager in Accra, but maybe you will be able to.
Yes, there is a new MP in our riding. However, I think the new cabinet has to be organized for anything to happen. Oh the waiting...
Thank-you for your suggestions.
It's my understanding (maybe I'm wrong) that you are not limited to using the MP in your riding. Go to an MPs office who is around your area who is experienced and they should be able to help you get an answer.
1 year seems like a ridiculous amount of time to wait AFTER an interview... unless in Nigeria they have a 2 step interview process and the interview u had before was just the first step? Perhaps they decided at that point that your relationship was genuine and they continue to process.... those who don't make it past the 1st interview they simply send the rejection notice....? Just trying to think what could possibly make them take a year after an interview has been conducted. Way to draw out peoples' pain..... It's like the truly want to break people's spirts completely through this processes sometimes.
