I want to know why the government has limited all kind of immigrations but asylum seekers I see ALL pathways to PR getting limited but refugees I was curious to know if there was like a law protecting this category of immigration or has the government not acted on them yet
( for the weak hearted im not saying I hate asylum seekers or refugees I just want to get informed )

I do not know why you repeatedly suggest that 2nd attempt applicants have weak cases. There are many cases involving families with long term establishment in Canada, children, and extreme hardship/conflict in their country of origin are denied because of bias of some IRCC officers, some receive approval after multiple attempts and waiting for years. At the same time, families from Ukraine are getting approval within short time and after arriving in Canada for few months only. Courts and immigrant organizations have frequently criticized the inconstitency and high discretionary nature of H and C program. IRCC is to blame for multiple applications, because if they establish a process of fair decision making and appeal, that would not happen.
I don't think Ukrainians or people displaced due to war are same as some freeloader just wanting to move here on a bogus asylum claim. They choose to move knowing they have no basis, have kids and established themselves (not enough resources to process and deport faster) while waiting and now want the sympathy of tax payers?

IDK about others but your comparison doesn't sit well with me.

The govt south of our border will force it soon. But probably won't last very long.

My opinion is that election is likely to be called in the spring so won’t have a big impact. No matter what H&C needs reform because there are 50k applications in processing for general H&C and quota is 10k/yr for all forms of H&C. Numbers don’t work.
good information you have shared. What do you say about visit visa quota for 2025?

This is report by Canadian council of refugees, stating concerning trend of refusals of H and C applications from families of war torn countries (ADR/TDR countries). As you can see, some IRCC officers refusing genuine applications from people displaced due to war/conflicts, and writing shocking comments in the refusal notes. Yet, some members in this forum think that H and C program is a fair process for all cases.

Filing H&C doesn’t give you status so Canada should have initiated removal after the 1st H&C was rejected. Long processing times should not essentially guarantee H&C approvals. Would add H&C applications are extremely expensive to process for taxpayers. Fair is a relative term.

They should be applying for asylum.

The extremely weak cases (often 2nd attempts) may get “faster” rejection but there is still a significant processing period and requires someone to review the application. Also doesn’t change the fact that in September 2024 there were 50k applications for H&C in processing.
Excuse me may I know where did you find this statement “ 50k applications were in process for H&C “ however I’m mindful about 10k approval targets for 2025 included all public policies like Ukrainian, Sudanese , Hong Kong as well as members of permit holders that’s officially verified by Canadian government in their websites but I couldn’t find anything regarding 50k applications are in process!!

Confirms 10k is for all forms of H&C.

What's your point? Canada has not deported people to moratoria countries and they continue to live here but that doesn't qualify them for H&C. Economic immigration is not a claim for asylum and has never been.

H&C is abused at this point and some people only apply because it gives them time. For example, convicted criminals in Canada apply for H&C too and overburden the system. UN also reports that about 400k displaced people are able to return home each year.

Overall, your comparison doesn't make much sense to me as there are also national security risks associated with a lot of countries.
