The notorious delay in application processing

Hi everyone,

I am a recently-admitted international student to a M.Sc. program at a university in Toronto.

With due attention to Iranian nationality, I was supposed to take the biometrics into account.

Here is the trace of my visa application, up to know:

Feb. 24: Submission
Feb. 25: Ask/Document request + answer
Feb. 26: Update (Ask/Document answer)
Feb. 29: biometrics
Mar. 1 : Update

It is over one month with out any typical expecting update...

Is this kind of delay something normal?
What is the potential reason for lack of any update within my application?
Is it better to communicate with myCIC in order to set an inquiry to clarify the situation?

Checking the following CIC site to Iran:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp

It returns:
"Study permit - Iran - 6 week(s)"

So it's on time.

There's nothing unusual about your processing times. Application processing often takes over a month to complete (even several months). You just have to wait. Keep in mind that the processing times posted on the CIC web site are just estimates.

It's almost 70 days passed from my application's submission and my status, not only, has not changed, but also my profile has not been, typically, updated, any more. (People often receive update, monthly.)

- What's the interpretation of not being updated, according to your experience?!

- Do you think 70-days delay is still something typical?!

Today is the 106th day after the submission of my application... Still no update...
I've issued a case specific enquiry on May 28th and have received no response on behalf of that, yet.

Today, after 134 days, my application has been changed to pass request.
