Hi guys,

I am really worried now with this new refugee reforms pls I need some to explain further. Does it mean when you have a failed refugee claim even if u appeal one will not have any time anymore. Even with the spousal sponsorship in process. Can one apply for both in-land and Outland at the same time. As anybody gone through the new refugee reform at all. Pls help out here.

hmm.
its hard to say with all the changes now.
i know before they changed, our immigration consultant told us that a couple right before us applied refugee inland and their application was sent back with refusal right away they wouldnt even open it because he was already denied refugee. so in this case she told us because my husband had already had his refugee denied he had to apply outland or else it would get denied instantly.
but because you havent been denied yet and the changes to the reform, im not sure if this rule still applies. I would assume it does, but i cant say 100%.

have you consulted an immigration consultant or lawyer to see how the changes will affect you... because they are so new its hard for anyone to really tell you exactly what will happen.

if you are denied you will be asked to leave much quicker than before, in that case you should apply outland. i think it is to close to your hearing date to try and apply inland now.

but really you should contact someone for a free consultation to help you a bit.

sorry if none of this helps. im also trying my best to understand the new changes for refugee.

good luck.

Thnks for ur replies, u have always bin so helpful. Like u said I will talk to lawyer and see wht options one have. It's just sad tht things are changing without system know tht it's the same pple tht come into this country as immigrants or refugee are the same pple tht make this country wht it is today! The so call pple tht calls them selfs canadians were at one point in time immigrants if not them their parents or grand parents were at sometimes.

yes this is very true!!,
its a hard process. like my husband was a refugee and he contributed to our community 100 times more than half of the people there, helping people out, he worked full time 2 jobs, paid taxes ect. yet he is the one that has a hard time to be with me, his family in canada.
while the people on welfare and being lazy! still get government support. Its unfortunate.

yeah, i was born in canada and my parents were, but all of my grandparents immigrated to canada from other parts of the world.

but at least canada is allowing ways for people to still immigrate!, many countries wont even allow this. so thank goodness for that! :)

But even after all this hard work, it will be an incredibly happy day when he gets his permanet residence, and than his citizenship will be ever more amazing! :)

i wish you good luck! and i hope your lawyer finds a way to help you! :)
