Okay, one more question for now...

My Dutchie was diagnosed with Type II diabetes a few years ago. However, one year ago he underwent a gastric bypass in Belgium, losing almost 50 kg (yay!), but -- even better -- he has had no signs of diabetes for almost a year.

So does he still have a serious medical condition that needs reporting? And will this cause a problem with his application? Would it have caused one even if he still had symptoms?

As a spousal applicant, he is exempt from excessive demand requirements so the surgery and prior diabetes shouldn't have a bearing on whether he will be approved and frankly shouldn't affect the timeline significantly/at all. The Panel Physician will likely want details on the surgery, etc. for the relevant forms but don't worry about it causing problems with his application.

That's good to know, thanks. He's been worried about being rejected as a potential burden on the healthcare system...regardless of whether he is no longer... :/
