consider an extension for your medical validity of 1 month then a due date of 1 month.

What you mean to say is, the CEM will reconsider my medical results extended for another 2 months after the 12 months?

Coz I read at cic website:
"Validity
Your medical exam results are valid for 12 months only. If you do not come to Canada as a permanent resident within that time, you may need to have another exam."

So, I had mine on March 20, 2013 and that makes it valid/reconsidered until May 19,2014. If this will be the case, I'll be very much grateful. I'll be saving a lot of money.

trewmenn: Would you mind if I ask where did you get the tips/info? Is it based on experiences and data on this forum? I'm sorry if I'm a bit handful already. I am amazed with this forum since I discovered it last week

I know I'm in the same boat as plenty of others, but I'm slightly worried for our application, as our medicals were done on February the 11th (2013). I was told that the CIC can renew the medicals within 3 months of its expiry, so if we don't get a response by May the 11th, well... that's a huge chunk of money gone again, as we have to take a plane and stay at least the night to get another checkup done.

Does anyone have any recommendations on what we should do if it gets nearer to the date and we don't hear anything from the CIC, or don't see anything updated on the website?

As you can see, I'm wondering the same thing. If it turns out we only have 2 months... then that would mean mine expires in a couple days (as April 11th is two months from our exam), wouldn't it? >_< Is there anything I can/should do to expedite a response from the CIC, at least to know that they're aware of my exam date..? That's assuming that the 2 month leeway is true, at least...

There's a new procedure that will allow medical validity to be extended if your application processing is completed within 15 months of the original medical exam and the only thing stopping your application from final approved and PPR is the expiration of your medical results (or ability to reasonably land within the initial year-long validity).

Officers will now be able to submit a request for an extension of the medical exam result validity (as long as they were done within the last 15 months) and they can extend them for an additional 12 months without the need for an additional medical exam. The details are on the CIC website.

But there is this little paragraph included:
This procedure is limited to situations where the final decision of an officer is pending due only to the expiration of a medical certificate. If anything else is pending, the officer should not use this procedure.

I got my photos returned to me.

Hey guys, I got my photos back that I used for my PR application. I'm so glad that they returned them to me, because they were high quality 4x6's and I worked really hard writing the descriptions on them as well.
