HI All, Im new here. I sent in my application to sponsor my husband on July 29. Fingers crossed xx I live in ontario and im sponsoring my husband from albania. Does anyone know if they will issue visit visas during the process?

thanks :)

Welcome to the July thread and good luck :D.

Well I have read on the forum that getting a visitor visa is harder when you are married, because a spouse is a really strong tie to Canada. He has to prove he has strong ties to his home country. You can try but he probably will be denied again, according to the forum. If you know his circumstances has change since last time you applied, maybe it can be worth trying.

Thank you for your response!!

I haven't heard anything yet, but i spoke to someone and they said id hear something by the end of August. Does that sound right or am i supposed to have received something?

I think the medical was done in may and the police check was also done then too. I already sent in his passport as well.

My husband was denied a visitor visa last year but we were not married yet and no sponsorship then either, so Im just nervous that he will be denied again.

I may be wrong, but from what I have read, it can be really difficult to get a visitor visa for spouses from "non-visa-exempt" countries with the PR visa application pending. I am sure someone with a lot more knowledge than me on the topic will chime in sooner or later.

Im hoping that because we have the sponsorship in now that they wont think he'd overstay his visit and ruin his chances for permanent residence. Also Ive been travelling there every 6 months and I have to work and take care of my kids. It would just be a thousand times easier if he could just be here. My children havent even met him yet and they are getting anxious as well.

Such an exciting time but soooo stressful too

I wish you all the best of luck xx

Hey Sis! :-*

OMG, it's like we are 2 peas in a pod ;)
It's also taking my VO 11 months to process but right now, New Delhi is on full strike so who knows how long it will take really. :'(
I only knew my hubby a few months before we got married as its an arranged marriage.... So I was really stressing out, until the application was submitted, about proving that it isn't a marriage of convenience.

Now I keep busy with work, volunteering, babysitting, housework, groceries, socializing in the community, basically anything that can be done and then the rest of the time is spent talking with hubby on the phone or Skype everyday, as well as checking this forum whenever I get the time now that I have discovered it. It is so exhausting that I might only think about the PR once a day...

I am sure your twins must really keep you busy, especially since you are taking care of them on your own.
Good luck

My VO takes 14 months to process apps, the time has been increasing since last year from now I think, and the strike makes it worse. I try to be busy too and this forum is a great thing because no one else understand what's going while you are in this process that us who are here.

I'm thinking about do some stuff that keeps my mind busy, because the you start thinking and thinking and that drives you crazy. I'm not a patient person at all and I feel the same as you girls. At this point my future is pretty much in the hands of a complete strange, not a good feeling at all, but I got faith that everything is going to be fine and I'll be with hubby.

Well if your going to try anyway in the forum I had read that you got more chance once you get your SA, I think they say you can add that to your visitor visa application and explain he would no overstay because he is not going to risk PR.

So better wait to get your SA and then applied, also and they say that don't put your hopes so high, because is really hard even you are married and even you have applied for PR.

Unfortunately they don't think as us, I applied two years ago for visitor visa and was denied, and I was going to come back to my country because we were just starting the relationship and I had my best friend wedding, and all my family lives here. But they didn't think my ties were strong to Mexico.

I've been thinking in applying for visitor visa too, but maybe I'm going to do it when the process is getting to the last part.

I just checked the delivery status of my application and it was received July 30 :)

I am definatly going to wait for SA before I submit the visitor application. Also because they have his passport already and he will need it if he's approved. The last time we applied we didn't send a lot and I think had I it could have been approved. We were new to this and didn't do enough homework. Now after gathering everything and finally submitting mine and his life, we are ready to try again. We are going to send in a support letter from my MP as well. Trying everything I can.

Congrats sheee29!
Just a question, did you get the SA through email or mail, or did you call them?

Welcome Can Alb!

Sheee29 congrats!!!

And that's also what I told my hubby too! The "if we survive this, we can survive anything" cuz he is most upset by the separation. Even though we had an arranged marriage, we fell in love at first sight and we chose each other, so it's really difficult for us to have finally found each other and then being so far apart.

OMG... your girls must be so adorable :D (I love kids, and twins on top of that! :-* :D) ... Its really too bad that your husband is missing out on watching them grow up. That must be the hardest thing to do...
Why can't the process be faster? :(

Yes, I have gone through all the posts in this forum... Couldn't help it, it's an awesome place to hang out and also another way to keep busy... :D
Plus I wanted to know who my new friends are cuz we are all in this together and the support system we are providing to each other has to be strong. I can see us becoming really good friends, sister!
Hope all of us (you, me and everyone on this forum and outside) can pull through in one piece.

The girls could be really cute, and as a Mother of twins, people keep an eye on us wherever we go, whatever we do they pay attention. Although you should've seen what happened yesterday. Probably in the minutes you were sending this text :) I went to do the shopping late afternoon and all of a sudden of of the girls went totally nuts, and wanted nothing but screaming as loud as she could.... We never wanted to sit in the seat or tell what the problem was (of course I do know well, what was wrong... She stopped sleeping daytime, and a lot less at nights, so she was exhausted and went crazy) but anyways there was nothing to do, she sat down on the ground and was screaming and crying for half an hour. Honestly. With the other girl, we stood there and stared at her and simply waited for her to stop and be willing to sit in the seat finally.... ??? Everybody was watching us, just imagine.... :o after all she stood up and said: 'Mommy I am done, can we go now? :o ;D ???'

thank you all guys ;D
