Hi guys. On the assessment test to see if we qualify for visa and on the application, we are asked what the level of our english is for each part(listining, reading, writing and speaking). The level are high(16 points), moderate(8 points) and basic(2 points) and no proficiency(0 points). If I have to score high which is 16 points, how do I go about finding out what results will qualify me as high proficient)? What is the bad on the results I will have to get to be qualify and get the 16 points in all 4 parts?

Thank you.

You have to get 7 or more in each category to get maximum points.

I looked at the website. What is this benchmark 8? So, if I get 7 in each one I will get the total 16 points?

Thanks EduardoF and Leon.

Yes, for each ability you score 7 or higher, you get 4 points. I did not see anything about benchmark 8

Yes, I have lived in Canada since January 2002. I came as a skilled worker. Why do you ask?

Haha, I am actually moving back to Europe soon. Maybe I will come back here again, I don't know.

Why? Is that bad in Canada?
No, it's fine but the living standards in Europe are similar and I have friends there. I can always move back here if I want to.

Thanks Leon. It seems you know a lot about Canadian immigration. Well, I current have 67 points and I would like to get a job offer before applying just to make sure I have enough points. I am still to take the IELTS and I am not sure how I will do it. My lawyer told me to try to get a job offer so that it might take shorter time and I might get my interview waived. He said I just need the offer and not the job itself. So, I am looking for it. Since I am in the US, it is hard to get someone in Canada to do it. But I will find it.

Thanks.
