[size=10pt][size=10pt][size=10pt][size=10pt] [Agent] Your wife called me two hours ago. She was on her way to home from Hong Kong after her interview.

She told me that the interviewer asked her questions about her son and your children. The interviewer asked her why you spent time with your children instead of your wife. Your wife answered that you both didn't think the process would take so long thus you spent your vacation with your children in Canada.

And the interviewer also said that you both couldn't communicate each other since both of you didn't know each other's language.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Husband] I wonder where CIC found the information about my holiday visits to my kids.

My holidays were only briefly mentioned in chats, but it is also possible those chat records were not even included in our application.

It just means that they must have scrutinized the chat records.
I thought perhaps they had not even looked at our chat history before dismissing the application.

Do you think the application was given thorough examination?

Regardless, my children are an important relationship. My visits to my children should not affect my wife's immigration status. This is total unrelated nonsense.

Yes, it probably could become a human rights issue in my country, if some bureaucrat tried to use this kind of logic in Canadian law.
[ husband] I also talked to my wife when she arrived home last night.

She described some of what occurred during the interview.

Without question, the Immigration officer discounted our marriage relationship which has been active and vital almost 4 years. I am very disappointed to be treated with such disregard.

This bureaucratic arrogance is discriminatory and prejudiced. Stereotypical discrimination is not tolerated in any civil office in my country, Canada.

No doubt, unproven presumptions made by your Hong Kong immigration worker could bring civil rights prosecution if presented as such in Canada,. The officer took a brief look at our complete binder, made two or three lame remarks about the validity of our relationship, then rejected our application.

I'm sure you realize this isn't a government web site - it's a public forum. There are no CIC representatives here.

CIC can be reached through the Government of Canada web site: https://www.canada.ca/

You can certainly ask, but I guarantee that they won't divulge the immigration worker's number.

If you are in fact refused and decide to appeal (I assume this was a spousal sponsorship application), I would recommend you join the appeals thread in the Family Sponsorship section of this forum where you can get support from others going through the appeal process with their spouses / common law partners.

Hello Scylla,

I am new to this particular kind of misery.

I have noticed you are very active elsewhere on this forum. What is your role here on this site? Are you a Moderator? Are you associated with this site's creators?

Do you think Government employees ever troll this website for evidence?

Otherwise, this forum appears to be unregulated......basically anything could be published here, right?

No - I'm not a moderator. I don't have any role here apart from being a poster like you. I sponsored my husband for PR a number of years ago and try to pass on what I learned.

This forum is moderated. Offensive / racist comments can be reported and removed (sometimes even users banned). Same goes for spammers. What you've posted is fine. It's an opinion.

FYI - there is extremely little traffic in this part of the forum. You most likely aren't going to get very many if any replies. Again, I'd recommend you move over to Family Sponsorship and find the existing (and very active) appeals thread.
