That is a generic response they give to everyone when security is going on. You would have got that response regardless of how you asked as long as you asked for status of the file.

Criminality and Security are different things.

Thx for your response.

So, just to be clear....most likely, my security has started?!? Is it possible to have security ongoing while under RR for POF?

cheers

Only way to know for sure is order GCMS notes. It will show if it is started or not.

Hi @legalfalcon and everyone.

I raised a CSE asking specifically about my Security.

The response is the below:

'Good day

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.

Furthermore, the background verifications are currently in process.

While the processing times may vary with each case, we will make all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible.

Rest assured that we will communicate with you once a decision is taken.''

Considering my criminality was passed in last December, is it possible to believe that the above statement is related to security?!?!

Ps:Considering I also have a RR for POF (not submitted any additional info, neither any ADR requested so far). In other words, would be possible to have security ongoing while eligibility under Review required?

AOR 5 Sept

Cheers!
@legalfalcon

That's a generic message that they send when you inquire about the status of your application. That's the same response I got when I inquired about the status of my background check.

Certainly is a generic reply, and I am aware of it.

The point is whether that means that my security has started in fact or not.

If u come back few posts u can see legalfalcon told @leka this CSE reply was regarding security since he/she had criminality passed already (my case as well). But my Eligibility was RR based on my last notes (mid january)

Just trying to cool my anxiety down a bit. lol

Meanwhile, I ordered GCMS already...but it takes a while and it is not up to date when it arrives.:(

Anyways,

Thank you very much for your insight.:)

Based on my experience, if the response says that BGC is in process, then your security check has started. Did order CBSA and CSIS notes yet?

Not yet. I am going to wait for the GCMS notes and if I have cleared my RR I will order.

If not, I will assume this generic reply was referring to my criminality only, and my security has not started at all yet.

Thx for your attention.

Hello,

My AOR was August 31st, 2018.
MEP and Criminality Passed => Sept 26th, 2018.
Background Check Started => Nov 11th, 2018 (GMCS notes).
ADR (CV, supplementary form, Schedule A) => March 20th, 2019.

I spoke with an agent and my Eligibility is also passed... Only thing left is security screening. I had an profile update for my ADR (now in reviewing the ADR) last week and got a ghost update yesterday which the agent told me was for your submitted new docs.
Do you think the CV request will prolong my security screening?
Already more than 7 months passed and almost 6 months BGC in progress...

Thanks

In which order is Security Screening processed? CSIS and then CBSA or CBSA and then CSIS?

Hi, I have a question. I forgot to mention my USA visa refusal in the application and then later email cic to declared it (it is purely a human mistake). Is this check will be under security as it is a part of travel history

Thanks

@legalfalcon My background check began on January 15th 2019 and my AOR is October 4th, 2019. I want to know why my security check is getting delayed. I am planning to order GCMS notes from IRCC, but in addition to that can I order for notes from CBSA or CSIS or both? I applied under FSWO and residing in INDIA. My brother is currently a PR in Canada. I was thinking to apply for these notes through him.

My doubt is

a) will CBSA/CSIS release notes solely based on information such as Unique Client Identifier/PR application number?

b) will those notes be filled with technical terms that doesn't make any sense to layman

c) I've read in many websites that CBSA notes is primarily used when we are applying for citizenship, does CBSA involve heavily during background checks in Immigration processing? If they don't, then probably I would only order from CSIS

d) In ATIP portal, I saw that one could request notes in electronic form (in case of CSIS/CBSA); does that mean they will send the notes via email?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

@legalfalcon

Good job in analizing the process of BGC in IRCC and CSIS. My question is my travel history to Malaysia. I have been there for about 8 months but as per law of Malaysia, only those who stayed for more than one year will be issued PCC (Certificate of Good Conduct).

IRCC requires for PCC, from Applicants, of each stay in any countries longer than 6 months but does indicate, on their website, some of exceptions and Malaysia is one of them. Under such circumstances, do you think IRCC or CSIS will still requesting data from these countries, specifically Malaysia in my case?

Bunch of thanks in advance, man!

Hello everyone,

I’m new to this group, but not new to the process :)

Below are my details:
Category: FSW
AOR: 19 August 2018
Medicals: Passed on 11 Sep
Eligibility: Passed
Criminality: Passed
Security Screening: I believe this is in process right now as I can see S15 code on my GCMS notes, with 12 activities mentioned under this.
Number of dependents: 1 (Spouse)
VO office: Ottawa

I’m an Indian based in UAE and today my application completes 8 months. My consultant believes our application is taking time in security screening as we have travelled quite a bit, especially my husband who has travelled to 38 countries for both leisure and work.

Just wanted to check if there is anyone with a similar profile when it comes to travel history or seeing the code s15 on GCMS notes.

This has been quite a patience-testing phase, as I’m sure is the case for all of us.

Good luck to us all.
