I cannot speculate, but if CSIS has concluded its involvement, then CBSA will too do so soon. It may take a few weeks.
Hi Legalfalcon, We got a request to re-do my husband's medical which he passed on January 31st and immigration has received the results, however, I did the MP inquiry and they are still saying that CBSA is still working on his background, please let me know since I thought that once they are done with background check they ask for medical, which is the last process, please let me know when can we expect PPR now? It's been more than 17 months now since I applied....it's really frustrating and depressing for us....

I am a PNP applicant with the foll timeline

Aor 16 dec 2018, BGC - NA
Mep 28 Jan 2019, BGC - IP1

On 01 Feb 2019, my BGC changed to IP2 but I did not receive any email on my registered email address and the status of my application remained ‘submitted’ and did not change to ‘updated’

I called IRCC on 04 Feb 2019 and when I specifically asked the agent for the status of various checks specially eligibilty and my VO. She told she told me that nothing has been completed, everything is underway.

What does this mean? How is it possible that BGC has started without Eligibilty being completed? Or is it that the agent was not one of the very helpful ones and was trying not to give away too much information?

Please advise. Thank you

The MyCIC status message has nothing to do with what stage your application is at. Just because your see BGC in progress, does not mean that you BGC has started.

Each application goes through the following stages:

1. R10
2. Medicals
3. Criminality
4. Eligibility
5. Security

@legalfalcon does cic necessarily request for additional documents from the applicants who are under security screening?

Usually during SS. no documents are requested. However, some applicants who are in a PhD program do get asked for a resume and details of the program.

If your meds have expired, when you re in SS, IRCC will suavely ask or re-meds around the time when your security is about to be concluded or has concluded and awaiting a final officer review before PPR is issued.

what do you mean by "suavely", you mean IRCC is "insincere" when they send re-medical request?

Hello @legalfalcon , I also tagged you in my other post i would like please to ask you, you are one of the best in this forum and your advice are so helpfull, i explain to you my situation, my wife want to divorce with me but i didn't land to canada ( i was the main applicant and she was not accompanying) i want ask you if i land for like 1 week then come back to my country and divorce with her is it ok ? or i still have to inform IRCC and have my PPR canceled/reviewed.
Thank you so much

Hi @legalfalcon

Spoke to agent and She told me that my Background Verification hasn't start yet as they are waiting for 3rd party report and its beyond cic control.
Once they get it, they will start working on my Background check. Moreover, My employer got inspection last week in his business from ESDC. do you think this is the reason which makes my application get delayed?

Moreover, they did not start Eligibility nor Criminality. i thought all process are working simultaneously. Eligibility also being check while BG is running.

It has already been almost 18 months....please reply ASAP please!!

If it was a gift, then you will show it as a gift. Get a gift deed./
