Hello there,

Thank you for your post. I have a question regarding my work permit application. I applied on July 5th and submitted my biometrics on Aug1st. According to CIC website, the timeline for getting the approval is 3 weeks ( I'm applying from the US). Since I exceeded the timeline stated online, I called IRCC for clarification and seemingly my eligibility passed and my application is currently undergoing background check. I was told that travel history helps a lot. Does that mean that it won't take a long time to get the approval?

Thank you!

I have been getting questions on what happens in a BGC a lot in the last few months. Even though in my post, “[A]natomy of an application” available on many threads, I do discuss this briefly, but I felt there was a need for a more exhaustive post. This post in no way accurately depicts the procedures adopted by the CSIS, Canada’s premier security agency, as their procedures are highly confidential and will never be made public. However, this post is an amalgamation of the information publically available, and my personal experiences with working for the governments and law enforcement agencies in different countries.

Guys my Security status changed to in progress by CBSA, any idea how much more time it takes from the date of this status update based on other applicants experiences and past trends?
How many activities under security screening do you have now? Thanks.

@legalfalcon I called the cic yesterday. He said my eligibility has passed and the now undergoing the security check. Do I need to order the gcms notes to know whether I was in security screening? Or should I wait for longer? My AoR is July 5th 2018. Thanks.

Hi Legalfalcon.
Hope you doing good.

I am dec 2016 applicant. I got my MR on jan 2018 and passed on 23 jan 2018 but in feb my medical status changed from passed to you do not need a medical exam. because my spouse medical was expired. It remained same for 4 months. I called cic on june first week and agent told me to wait till 23 june. on 19 june I got medical request for my spouse. We retook the medical and status changed to passed on 4th july. Got gcms notes generated on 19 july. File is at ready for ps transfered on 18 july.

I want you to let me know how much time it will take for PPR?

Thanks

As soon as an officer reviews the file, you should have the PPR. However, in some cases PPR are sent in batches, so you may have to wait fot the next batch. Usually 1-3 weeks.

It means they send remedical after security is done? In my gcms printed on 19 july it says not started.

How did your meds expire? They are valid for a year. If you got the meds done long ago, and they expires, your security will not start until the re-meds are cleared.

Got it. No worries. I don't see any concerns, just be patient and wait.

Sir 1 last question sorry for asking so much. What do you think security is done or still pending? And what is final review? @legalfalcon
