Is there any other option except Mandamus to speed up your case?
I have been stuck in Security Screening since 2.5 yrs.
Unfortunately not. Also, mandamus is a very fact specific and not a one size fits all solution. If you do not go for mandamus, you can send web forms and emails, but you will keep getting generic responses back and the application will progress at its own pace.

Once after a mandamus, will your application be highlighted and if the Court orders, dealt with in a specific timeframe?

You can read more on what is mandamus and what is not. see https://bit.ly/3NxbRCv

@legalfalcon ,

Thank you for your valuable insights and responses.

I have applied for PR under EE CEC class. AOR 21 Oct 2022. Everything Passed on 3 Feb. Info Sharing In Progress since 9 Nov 2022. Security started 6 Feb 2023.

No VR. No to ALL stat Q's, No Adverse Information. Plain and simple profile.

Today, I received CBSA notes and it says "Security Screening by CBSA" In Progress? Does it mean it will be sent to CSIS next or only CBSA?

What are current average timelines to complete security screening by CBSA these days? How early could this complete?

Since my ITA received on 31 Aug 2022 after 6 Jul. All applications after 6 July will be back to 6month processing standard by Imm!gration m!n!ster Sean Fraser. Does this mean Security screening has to be concluded within 6months?

Does due date on security screening (30days from start date) and case file due date has anything to do with processing timeline?

Thanks!
The immigration minister has said so many things. He is a politician. Just because he says something, does not mean it will be done.

As per IRCC's own security screening manual, the average processing time for a SS is 110 days. Now some will be done much faster and some will take much longer. All the minister wanted to say was that IRCC is trying and finalize most average applications within 6 months.

When calculating 6 months, remember it does not start when you submit your application, instead from the date your application is marked complete, i.e. R10 is complete. Unless IRCC marks your application as complete, the clock never starts.

Also, all-time taken to provide any additional documents, biometrics etc is not calculated towards the 6-month processing time frame.

So read the fine print.

@legalfalcon ,

Does "Security Screening In Progress by CBSA" mean my file under "Comprehensive" SS or "Regular" SS like every file goes thru? Below screenshot from CBSA notes. Thanks!

@legalfalcon ,

CSIS confirmed completed security request and sent back results to CBSA on same day 6 Feb when security initiated.

Does CBSA do comprehensive SS or does CBSA order CSIS screening again at a later date after CSIS record check done on 6 Feb?

Please respond. Thanks!

CSIS and CBSA are both involved in SS. See the blog post for details on who does what and how.

Hello. So here is the BGC forum.
here are my stats
FSW from France

ITA 18 jan
AOR 15 feb
BIL 28 feb
ADR 28 feb
VM 28/02 (completed for me and in progress for my partner because we will add results of aditionnal blood tests on March 20th to our IRCC doctor

I created my profil on the tracker and here is what there is

ELLIGIBILITY completed (only for me)
MEDICAL completed (in progress for partner)
BIOMETRICS Completed (in progress for partner)
BACKGROUND not started (same for partner)

is it possible to know if I passed some BG steps regarding my tracker ? I always lived in France but traveled in 9 or 10 countries during the last 10 years for my holidays (max 2 weeks)
will it affect the process ?

if i trust the tracker this is the last step for me (hope will help to provide the other blood analysiz for my partner that is why everything stuck for him I guess)

everyone have a wonderful day

@legalfalcon Hi, hope everything goes well for you. I got my gcms notes last month, and from the notes, only eligibility and medical passed, eligibility passed on Feb 1st, info sharing, criminality and security are all under processing, but until now, it’s been 2 months, I still haven’t got any reply from IRCC, I am assuming that I got comprehensive security check, because usually security check can be passed very quickly, and also on my notes, it shows s. 15(1), and all information about security is hidden, I’m from China, this case, what kinda reason caused the delay of my application. Since from the date I submitted my application, it’s been 21 months, they only passed my eligibility after 20 months of my pr application submission, should I go for another program like EE, does it make any differences or I should just wait for it? Thank you!

Guys

On December 1, 2022, I submitted a request Access to Information Act to CSIS and received a letter that has the following

“A record search for the requested information was completed on the basis of the information provided by you and we were unable to locate any record relevant to your request”

Does it mean my application was sent from IRCC but was never received or forgotten by the CSIS?
@legalfalcon please help here. I also received notes from CSIS saying same for both PA and dependant: “A record search based on the requested information provided by you was completed and we were unable to locate any record regarding NAME.”

I thought it meant that the CSIS Security clearance was passed, but now I got doubts - maybe this sentence actually means that there was never ordered any Security check from CSIS. I read that it’s unusual for CSIS to do Security clearance for outlanders, that it’s only CBSA doing security check for outlanders.

greatstrides

Me too. My security check started at Jan 30, and there is no update since then...very anxious
