Hello guys, I have a big problem. My eligibility was passed on 22nd of March 2019 but Criminality and Security have not been initiated since. I know this is not normal. I have contacted IRCC but no response. Is there anything I can do other than to wait . My application is over 19months (spousal sponsorship)
Please update us your case

@legalfalcon. Kudos for the wonderful work u are doing here. I am PNP applicant and my PR app was received CIO Jan 18, 2019. My AOR was March 29, 2019 and I also received MR Sept 09, 2019. Medical was passed Sept 20, 2019 and since then no update. I called CIC call centre and the agent said, Eligibility has not started and background in progress. I was thinking background check will start after the eligibility has been completed, I was wondering why they started my background check before eligibility! Is this normal? I have read ur post on how background check works, can u please explain in details how the perform the Eligibility check. I also notice that my application was not sent to local visa office.
Thank you

@legalfalcon
I applied under PNP paper VO Sydney
AR 17-1-19

AOR 27-3-19

Bio 22-4-19

MR 9-9-19

MP 19-9-19
Country of residence India.
As people with similar timeline are getting DM, I called CIC yesterday, the agent told me that everything is OK with file and we are working on your background and eligibility. You have passed criminality.
At the same time an MP office raised my query with CIC and they informed them that my file is under additional review and next put forward date is 28 Nov, 2019.

What is additional review?
I was similarly put on additional review last year when I applied for visitor visa for US (from Vancouver, Canada) while I was visiting Canada, but I was given visa for 10 years within the processing time.
Does it relates with my situation?
Should I order GCMS notes?

I have a security clearance check underway with the Canadian Government for work, as my company sometimes does contracts with them so we need clearance. It's been processing for a couple of months now but I wondered if this could be slowing down the background checks for my PR? Any insights welcome. Thanks!

Historically, they have been processed the fastest, something things may change, but I would still say that the processing of PNP is faster than FSW.
Hi Manmeet, I would like to understand how the process for EE PNP will be faster coz the process time-frame is same for all the Express Entry applicants. Will there be less processing time to get the PPR for PNP applicants or would there be no References letters or ECA verification. Please elaborate how this would be faster for PNP applicants. Thank you for your time.

Dear Legalfalcon,
Please I need your opinion on this.
My eligibility was passed in March and I received a pre-arrival letter in that regards. I heard nothing from IRCC since then until last week when my background check status changed to processing and they requested for new medical, updated travel history and schedule A form. From the CBSA notes I order in July, the officer noted that new medical should be requested after background check has been completed. Am so confused because I think they are just starting my background check after 7months since the eligibility was passed. I thought the wait was over not knowing am starting a new phase. Am so disappointed in the way this is whole process is disorganized.

Hi legalfalcon, I'll be in the US when the IRCC processes my application. I've already travelled to US 3 times in the last 4 years on a visitor visa. Will background take time while physically being in the US at the time processing?

Any idea what the wait time for comprehensive security screenings is currently?
Hi there,

Our BGC was requested in September 2019. Then we got the first pre-arrival letter in Oct 2019, one more in Nov 2019 and last week we were notified to mail our passports to complete the PR confirmation! It seems to be very straight forward.
