Anybody looked into international Experience Canada working holiday visa? We qualify but it says no dependents and we have 2 kids. Also no medical so I'm guessing no subsidized schooling either

1. You need to be invited to apply, and they're only looking at EE profiles created in 2018. If you already have an EE profile that was created in 2017, you have to cancel and create a new one (changing your position in the EE queue).
2. They're using specific criteria for their 3 streams (French, Masters and Human Capital Priorities) - most people will fall into HCP. I've seen priority given to software developer codes etc at this point but you can search for what they're looking for.
3. They'll send you an invite via your profile. You will have 45 days to accept and upload all the documentation, and pay the CAD$ 1500 processing fee.
4. Documentation required is heavily around work employment history of primary applicant, and you'll need your Proof of Funds - basically, if you've been diligent about documentation for your EE profile, you'll have 90% of it already
5. You must send them a copy of your WES evaluation from WES
6. If they have not begun processing it, you can be refunded (as in you got an ITA without it). I waited 60 days for processing, but I suspect it was because I didn't do the duplicate WES because nowhere did it state I had to :/
7. Estimated timelines are 2-3 months - then once approved, you must still accept the nomination before points are updated on your profile.
8. If they have a problem with any of your docs, there are additional time delays while they notify you and you supply updated docs.

In short, PNP from Ontario isn't quick, cheap or easy, BUT they were targeting the EE scores (430+) of this thread.

To be selected for OINP do you have To have a degree or something or would 10 years experience in a desired field be considered?

A degree is required:

  3. Language: A minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 in English or in French
  4. Settlement Funds: A minimum level of savings or income to support you and your family members
  5. Intent: An intention to live in Ontario
  6. Legal Status in Canada (if applicable): Must have legal status in Canada (i.e., study permit, work permit, visitor record) if currently residing in Canada.
  7. Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Score: A minimum of 400 points in the CRS of IRCC’s Express Entry system.

Thanks for that . This damn degree catches us at every turn. Hubby studied at a college unrecognised by WES

Remember one thing, you have to work minimum one year in Canada on the LMIA Exempt WP if you wanna claim points(50 points) for for valid job offer (the job offer has to meet criteria’s such as Job is full time(30 hrs/week), falls under NOC 0, A, B and job will be valid for another year after the PR is issued). This 1 year will also provide you additional point as part of Canadian experience class...

Thx buddy. Yes the 35 points of experience will be enuff for me hopefully and wont need the 50 add points hopefully as worst case. If they continue to keep me and give a job offer, even better:)

Remember after 1 year you will have 5 points reduced because of changes in your age.

Claim as much point as possible, you never know that there is a risk if he officer not recognizing certain points which may yank your overall score

Current score 434
Age drop in next 3 years -15
1 yr Canadian experience +35
As i have to factor buffer for getting the ICT job
Score in 2021 = 454 - HOPEFULLY above cutoff as worst case
Best case I get the new job offer beyond the 1 year and covering 1 yr after PR = 50 points
CRS best case 454+50 = ill be in at 2021.

All this as i was too lazy in 2016 :D

So after 3 yrs you will also have around 2 yrs of Canadian experience min to claim
