If you have a joint degree, then you have to put it as one degree, i.e. B.A., LL.B. (2013-2018).
@legalfalcon thank u for a prompt reply . i want to mention that degree granted to me in 2016 specifically states " bachelor of arts" and degree granted to me in 2018 says " bachelor of laws" there is no mention of 5 year integrated course along with it.but it is however an integrated course, so what I thought apt to be mentioned is B.A 2013 to 2018 and LL.B 2013 to 2018..... is that correct. please help ..there is not much info anywhere. will my degrees be considered as seperate credentials?

If you receive two separate degrees, i.e. you have two degree certificates you will have to mention them separately. However, if you only have one degree certificate with both the degrees mentioned, then you can write it accordingly.

Hi @legalfalcon,

I have a question regarding my Indian PCC.

I have got my Indian PCC from CGI Toronto back in Dec 2018, I never visited india since 2017 until now. Is my PCC still valid now indefinitely? or do I need to get a new one?

Thanks

As per IRCC, "
  • For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant stayed in that country for 6 months or more in a row.
So your PCC is valid.

@legalfalcon please can you help me with this?

Hi guys,

Please can someone help me out here? I am re-applying for my PR soon. It was first refused in Dec 2019 and the officer mentioned that duties weren't consistent with lead statement, does not appear that PA performed a SUBSTANTIAL number of the main duties for declared NOC. Now I am about to re-apply again under NOC 6221. Please find the roles and responsibilities as given to me by the company:

  • Managed and improved business relationships with existing clients
  • Identified opportunities to gain clients’ trust
  • Determined clients' needs, recommended or assisted in the selection of customer-tailored goods or services, and negotiated pricing as required for customer satisfaction and retention
  • Troubleshot equipment’s technical issues on a just-in-time basis
  • Maintained sales pitching and proposals as a way of selling benefits of goods/services provided to customers
  • Maintained and improved working knowledge of software to explain features of goods and services to clients in order to drive sales and increase customer loyalty
  • Made improvements/suggestions to marketing plans and strategies to achieve company objectives, thereby reducing churn and increasing business revenue
  • Maintained customer records through daily interactions with customers
  • Consulted with customers to resolve billing/technical problems and to provide ongoing support
  • Met daily, weekly and monthly sales/production targets
  • Provided input into product function where goods and services needed to be custom made for customers
  • Stayed ahead of the competition by being abreast of their activities and general market trends
  • Periodically supervised the sales and production activities of other sales specialists due to knowledge gained

These are the main duties in the NOC website:

  • Maintain and grow sales relationships with existing clients
  • Identify and solicit potential clients
  • Assess clients' needs, recommend or assist in the selection of appropriate goods or services, and negotiate prices or other sales terms
  • Provide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit clients' needs
  • Develop sales presentations, proposals, or other materials to illustrate benefits from use of good or service
  • Estimate costs of installing and maintaining equipment or service
  • Prepare and administer sales contracts and maintain customer records
  • Consult with clients after sale to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support
  • Troubleshoot technical problems related to equipment
  • Develop and maintain technical product or service knowledge to explain features to clients and answer questions about goods or services
  • Develop, implement and report on marketing plans and sales strategies to achieve business goals
  • Assess market conditions and competitors' activities and develop an awareness of emerging markets and trends
  • A driver's licence and a good driving record may be required.
  • May supervise the activities of other technical staff and sales specialists.
  • May offer training in the operation and maintenance of equipment

Please what do you think?
1. Do I go with this or ask for another letter?
2. Is my letter consistent with the lead statement?
3. Do you think this shows that I performed substantially the main duties in the NOC?

TIA for your answers.

PS: Anyone can also answer. Please be factual.

Hi,

I have matched your duties with that specified by IRCC for NOC 6221. The duties seems to align with the lead statement. There were just two of the 14 duties that weren't performed based on your letter. In addition, I think the requirement for a driver's license is not a job duty. It is a good letter however, it is not clear what goods and services your company provides to clients. I guess your letter head will help clarify this. You will be successful in this application. All the best.

1. Maintain and grow sales relationships with existing clients

Managed and improved business relationships with existing clients

2.
Identify and solicit potential clients

Hello @legalfalcon, kindly help with this.
I added my new spouse to my application after I had received PPR in August 2019. I recently asked IRCC for updates and I got this:
You will find below useful information that we hope will help understand the process and current status of your application for permanent residence:
· Your application was received via your account on March 2, 2019.
· Your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied,

  • The background verifications are in process.
  • The security background verification is currently valid.
  • The criminal background verification is currently valid.
Can you please explain with it means please?

Hi @legalfalcon

I read threads here in the forum and you are actively helping and sharing your knowledge for the people who have applications.

1. Seven years ago, when I was in Canada, I crossed into US border in Coutts, and since I dont have US visa, I will denied entry to their border, and will proceed back in Canada border and admitted back to Canada. Now, I am applying for my PR. in the question "Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country or territory?” , do i have to declare that situation?

However, in the question "latest entry in Canada", I stated the Date when I was cross in the border (it happened, August 3, 2013),not the date where I arrive thru point of entry in Vancouver (Nov 2012).

2. My pr application is Outland paper-based and it is possible that it takes longtime before the decision comes out. so from my home country in the Philippines, I flew here in Malaysia last February to look for a work, and probably this month, I can have my Malaysia work visa. what will be the steps that need to do on my ongoing PR application while I am here in Malaysia?

Thank you very much and have a nice day.

Since you added your spouse, your spouse's checks will have to be done and it means that her security and criminality is pending or in progress. Since your eligibility is done, she is expect from eligibility since you added here later in the application.

1. Yes, you will have to answer this in affirmative, though it will not make any difference to your application, but all questions have to be answered truthfully. For the latest date, you will have to answer it when you most recently entered canada, which would be when you were refused entry into US and you came back into Canada.

2. I you have changed your country of residence, you will have to inform IRCC of your new address, which you can do via CSE.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply,ok I will update CIC about the number 1 question. because I click No on that denied entry part.

since I change my update from saying No on that question, to telling them that there's a circumstance that I denied entry, will CIC thinks that I am lying on the first place and telling the truth later?

does transfer or change of residence from Philippines to malaysia will have an impact on my PR application?

Hi Legal Falcon.
Thank you for all the amazing advice and guidance to aspiring immigrants.
I have joined express entry in 2019 may and received ITA followed by submission of documents. On March 11th 2020, I received Canada PR refusal letter and the letter stated as follows:
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited you to apply for permanent resident status based on the qualifications you claimed in your Express Entry profile. In your Express Entry profile you indicated:
 2015-09 to 2017-09 - EDI Programmer Analyst (NOC: 2174) - at XXXXX Software Services Inc
The submitted information with your application for permanent residence did not adequately demonstrate that, for the declared period of skilled work experience, you performed duties set out in the occupational description of NOC 2174. This includes the lead statement as well as a substantial number of the main duties of NOC 2174, per Ministerial Instructions 25(2)(b).
This change in your qualifications resulted in a loss of points that brought your rank below the lowest ranking person who was invited to apply in your round of invitation, under the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System.

One of my employer have not mentioned the start date in the letter , hence letter could not demonstrate definite work time period. I tried contacting IRCC through web request form to request an opportunity ti submit corrected letter. But, after couple of attempts I got a reply stating I need to re enter express entry.

At this point, before creating my new express entry profile, I would like to make sure if I am understanding the refusal reason correctly to not repeat the mistake.
Does the refusal reason stated above indicates the issue with employment time period or with NOIC code? I mean was the refusal pointed to just work experience time period or job title and duties mismatch with NOIC?
It would be great if you could provide your insight on the refusal reason.
Thank you for your time and effort in advance.

Hi Legal Falcon,
I have a question, I am working as an Architect & Project manager in a private company which is having a chain of pharmacy and restaurants. I have created my profile with NOC 2151, but I don't deal with an external client as stated in required job responsibility because I work on internal projects and my organisation is not an architectural firm. All of the below duties I am performing except last one, but for my own organisation will that be an issue.

This group performs some or all of the following duties:
  • Consult with clients to determine the type, style and purpose of renovations or new building construction being considered
  • Conceptualize and design buildings and develop plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs and construction schedules
  • Prepare sketches and models for clients
  • Prepare or supervise the preparation of drawings, specifications and other construction documents for use by contractors and tradespersons
  • Prepare bidding documents, participate in contract negotiations and award construction contracts
  • Monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Conduct feasibility studies and financial analyses of building projects.
Hoping to get some help.
Thanks
