Hi, could you confirm if you received the med request yesterday on a Saturday? And your vo?

I am asking as I have seen a change in med status but I am not sure when it changed as till Friday evening there was no change in there.
Yes I received the request yesterday (Saturday) but the date on the request letter was March 9th, wich is Friday.

The VO at which your application is irrelevant. I wrote a post on this issue. Finding which VO the application is at is a waste of time and a burden on IRCC resources.

Hi Legalfalcon,

Thanks for your valuable insight and advice. However, I am unable to understand that without knowing the visa office how can you predict your timeline because each visa office has different processing pace. Few are now processing December applications while in some October applications are yet to start. Appreciate your input.

Hi @legalfalcon

I haven't stayed my country for continues 6 months since I turned 18. I only go three for a month or less. I don't think I even stayed 6 months in total since I became 18. Do I need to request PCC from my country? It feels strange not requesting.

Hi legalfalcon,

I’d appreciate if you could answer this question. In the forum “Busting myths and best practices for app tracking,” you mentioned that “it[Ottawa] is also the Local Visa Office for in-land applicants and those applying from USA.” Does it mean that the CPC for all applications whose country of residence is the US is Ottawa? Also, I am a citizen of South Korea but based in the US. Is Ottawa my CPC? Thanks in advance!
If you are residing in US, CPC Ottawa will be where you will be asked to send your passport, and CPC Ottawa will issue you your PPR.

Hello @legalfalcon

As per ndvo request, me and my husband re-did our medicals which was uploaded by the med team on the 26th feb as per their confirmation. How ever since 27th feb the status changed to we have requested a medical exam, see below for details'. I had uploaded a letter of explanation for my stepson meds earlier and it was uploaded on to my file on 19th Feb as confirmed by CIC agent on call.
I now see the cic status for medical changed to 'we did not receive the results of your medical exam, please see below for details'.
Now I am so confused if they are mentioning that they haven't received any or are they wanting for my stepson.
How do I know as ndvo is not putting a direct mail at all and only status changes that Is so confusing.

Please can you advise, I am completely upset now as everything else on my file is good.
Please reply.
I am not sure if I get your question, since you did not mention how many applicants are on file, or how your family is structured.

As per the Immigration Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), the applicant all dependent members have to provide their medicals and police clearance, irrespective of whether they are accompanying or not.

I am not sure what IRCC has received and what is pending. If you have sent all the medicals, and still the status should not received, first check with your physician's office if your meds have been transmitted. If they have been, then allow 1-3 weeks for it to be updated to the file. IRCC may have received the meds, but they have to be updated on the file which takes time.

If this duration has passed by then contact IRCC via CSE or on the CPC Ottawa email to clarify.

Dear legalfalcon,

I need an advice from you regarding GCMS notes. My brother requested 2nd set of GCMS notes for myself on 31st Jan 2018 and till date he has not received it. He had emailed ATIP email ID given in GCMS fee receipt on 5th March mentioning all details and they never replied email apart from an automatic reply. Please suggest do I need to order a fresh set of notes or should I wait more?

Thanks in anticipation.
Under the Access to Information Act, IRCC is legally obligated to release the GCMS notes within 30 days from when the request is filed. If the time exceeds, then you should send an email to ATIP and they take forever to reply. Usually 2-3 weeks is what they take to revert back.

You can either wait, or send another reminder. If you still do not hear, then you can file a complaint with the Information Commissioner of Canada. ICC will investigate the issue and get your GCMS released, which takes 1 month or more after the case is assigned to an investigator.

Thank you for your reply.
Yesterday I received re-medical request (The current one will expire on March 30th).
Does this mean implicitly that security is passed?
Thank you
Either the security is passed, or about to be. I cannot conclusively say without looking into your GCMS or CBSA report. But any progress is a good sign.

Thanks Manpreet Ji,

I just want to know would raising a CSE on this matter has any negative impact.
No CSE has no negative impact. If you do not disclose then it can be held against you, but if you see a mistake, and get it corrected, then no need to worry.

Regards,
The applications are processed electronically. They are distributed based on work load. Also, even if you are a resident of a specific country, that does not conclusively mean that your application will be processed by a specific office. Further, all applications are different, and you cannot compare one with another. Further, some applicant may have lived their whole life in one country and recently moved to a new one, and filed the EE. Their application can be processed at their country of residence, origin, or in Canada.

When too many people send emails to ask for VO, it is just a waste of time and IRCC has to send valuable human resource to answer them, which can be better used else where.

As per IRCC:
  • For the applicant’s current country of residence, the police certificate must have been issued no more than six months before the submission of the e-APR.
  • For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant lived in that country.
  • Police certificates are required up front and are mandatory for each country (except Canada) where an individual has lived for six months or more in a row.
So if you have not lived in a country for more than 6 months, you do not need a PCC. However, IRCC can ask for a PCCC if they require one, which is their discretion.

Hello:)

Any suggestions regarding this scenario would be much-appreciated @legalfalcon :)

What will happens if someone wants to cancel/withdraw his/her PR application? Will it affect that person in the future if he/she wants to reapply again for PR, including express entry or as a PNP? Let's say, this person is PNP nominee and sent all documents to the Sydney office and a halfway to his/her permanent residency, but wants to withdraw due to personal reasons. Please advice.

This is a generic response. If you think that you may be under SS, you can consult your GCMS notes or you can request cBSA / CSIS notes. These notes will only tell you if the agency has finished its involvement in your application.
Thanks @legalfalcon

Will the cBSA/CSIS notes be able to identify if I am under SS?
Where do you recommend in getting these notes? (i.e. best service provider to use)
