One more thing. If I do get my PCC for both cities separately. I've to get them from when I was 18 years old to the date when I last travelled to that country right?. Both of them would have similar dates as I was traveling back and forth a lot.

So they would be let's say when I turned 18 is A (my birthday)
I travelled to city B and C when I was 18 years old. My last visit was late April. I arrived Arab land on 1st May.

City B = A to 2nd May 2017
City C = A to 2nd May 2017
Most PCCs are issued for all time period, as in as of today, there is no criminal record. It is not form 2010-2017. However, each country can have different rules, I am not familiar with Pakistan, so can't say.

Dear Legalfalcon, preparing docs post-ITA and I have a question re PCC validity. The official statements says:

If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:
  • are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
  • have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.
Q: I currently reside in another country and not in my home country, therefore I don't live in my home country anymore, but I travel to my home country to visit my family time to time through the year (~every quarter).
I am planning to go to my home country again next month to arrange some of the documents and also pick up my home country PCC in person (arranging PCC via consulate abroad takes much more time). Given this the date on my home country PCC will be "before" my last visit because I will leave my home country with PCC in hands and get back to my current country of residence. Is it correct that this PCC will still be valid simply because I will be just visiting my home country and I am not living there anymore, as per official requirement?

Thank you!

For your country of residence (where you actually live, irrespective of citizenship):
  • For the applicant’s current country of residence, the police certificate must have been issued no more than six months before the submission of the e-APR.
For any other country:
  • For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant lived in that country.
You need to get a PCC from any country when you do not live after you left the country, so the PCC you collect from your home country will not be valid as you will have visited it after the PCC was issued and therefore will not coved the duration you visit it for.

Thank you! Then it means I can't go to those countries untill I get a PR or submit my application?

Hi LegalFalcon,

I am in a very tricky situation here,

I have 2 previous jobs which are sufficient to prove my CIC points.. and just 6 months back I joined a new firm... Now I have declared my new firm in the application (Previous to ITA) as well but I don't intend to put my roles and responsibilities letter for the new one... Simply because I don't intend to disclose my intention to my emplyer.. Would that be fine?

No need to worry, you can move this job from your work experience to your personal history. Just make sure that you meet the minimum eligibility criteria for the program (FSE, CEC etc.) you are applying for and your are over the minimum CRS for the round.

Would it be fine if my pre ITA profile has that job into work history but post ITA doesn't have that in work history but in personal history?

Yes. Absolutely. But just make sure that you are not going below the points. This is because when you made the profile, you add the job to get points, now you are removing it, which may impact your points and eligibility. Removing it from work history to personal history will not be an issue.

Yes that part is covered. I am sure my points won't fall below if I put this Job in personal history. I was only worried about mismatch of information in Pre ITA and Post ITA.

If that's not an issue I should be fine.. thank you very much

Hi Legalfalcon, thanks for the great job you are doing.
I am wondering if there a way to get the VO to look at my file. It has not been touched for over 70 days now. GCMS reveals all is well, awaiting officer review at the London VO.

What would you suggest? i am feeling uncomfortable with the abandonment.

Hi @legalfalcon,

I am about to finish my e-aPR and I have points where I'm still doubting:

  • Proof of funds :
That was a very tricky one. I have 2 bank accounts (one saving in France and one current in Germany). I had to ask and ask the banks for the info, cause each time something was missing. And it was also tedious to get extra translation for all the German docs I got. It makes now 17 pages just for PoF...

I have a Certificate letter from my parent's notary stating (in French) :

"*Many name*
*With my full address in Germany*
*Birth date, place*
*Nationality*"

Then it says:
"Has received as manual gift from her parents Mr. and Mrs. *family name*, living in *Location name* (French Department (like county) name) the amount of XXXXX euros."

So my question is very specific. The notary's secratery wrote the name of the municipality/commune district/region (it's called "canton" in French, if that rings anyone a bell) as location name and not my parents village name. It's maybe not "totally wrong" cause the ZIP Code would be the same one but it's not what would appear in their home address, usually.

I'd like to know if it's ok to go for it that way in spite of this detail, as the main point is there, or if I should wait until Monday that my mother get a new letter with the actual town name. I feel like i'm overthinking it a bit too much but if anyone as some input in this, it'd be appreciated.

Also it is just a declaration sent to me directly from the notary. There's no signature from my parents. Is that ok too?

  • For Proof of Studies for my Masters and BA I am providing:
- Certificates of completion of each
- Transcripts of each
- ECA for both
Is that OK?

  • Police certificates
- I spent one year in Canada with Work holiday visa. I didn't provide a PCC as it says I'll be asked for it later if needed.
- I spent a year in the Netherlands, I'm waiting also first for the paper of IRCC to request it as it is the way to do for this country.

I am ready to submit and pay the fees as soon as I am able to. But I want to make sure all is ok and sufficient first, hoping it my proofs won't be rejected. Thank you so much for your help.

If you have a big debt, as in you borrowed 5K, which you haven't paid and every cycle you are paying off some money, only in this circumstance will you disclose it. If you have no debt, and you pay off your Credit card charges at the end of each cycle, no need to mention that.
Hi LegalFalcon,

Need your advise on one more point. I just noticed that on one of my previous employers experience letter submitted with my eAPR, date of issuance is missing. As in, the letter has all the employment period dates i.e. 24-12-2007 - 19-08-2013, but the date on which the letter was issued to me (June 29, 2017) is missing on the letter. Please suggest should i get a new letter from the company and upload it using CSE.

Hi LegalFalcon,

One query on the mismatch of names:

In my passport, my name is mentioned as [Surname] + [Given Name]
In my degree certificate, however, my name is mentioned as [Given Name]
But The ECA I got from WES has mentioned my name as [Surname] + [Given Name] same as that of Passport.

My all other documents, Employment Proof, Police Clearance Certificate, Medical Info, Salary Slips and Bank statements have the name as mentioned in the Passport [Given Name] + [Surname]. Only degree certificate doesn't contain my surname.

Will this pose any problem while verifying the Education section of my ITA documents?
I am writing a LoE explaining the various alternative documents that I shall be attaching in the Employment and PoF sections.
Is there need to mention about the name discrepancy there. If yes, then pls suggest the best approach to do so.

Thanks in Advance.

There is no trick, you will have to just wait it out. Although, you can try ordering another set of GCMS, as that forces an officer to review your file before releasing and sometimes it helps. Apart from that, just be patient.
