Thanks kryt0n and DelPierro07. Have seen so many responses from you people.

Just one quick question. My passport is expiring soon in November 2017. My CRS is 446 and looking at the current trends I am hoping for an ITA soon . (fingers crossed)

Unfortunately , I can not submit my passport for renewal right now since I have my GMAT/GRE exam coming in this month. (The exam companies confirmed they need a valid passport for verification purposes).

I looked in the forum and have understood that you can renew your passport later and inform IRCC about the same post-ITA. However I am just concerned :

1.Whether this will delay the whole processing time ? (and I should try to get the passport renewed ASAP)
2. Is there an option to edit the passport number post-ITA while uploading everything?
3. I have a UK PCC on the present passport number, issued in Oct 2016. Will that need to be changed?
4. Should I take Indian PCC right now on present passport or take only once I have got it re-issued?

Don't want to make any delays. Complicated as always :p

Best regards!

P.S It takes a month on an average to process the passport re-issue by Indian Gov. Though I have heard of faster processing times recently. So just calculating how can minimise the whole processing time!

Hi- so the primary applicant (my wife) was hired by a company A to work for company B. She worked for some time and came back to India. When she tried to renew the visa then the visa officer was not happy with the fact that there is third party involved hence her H1 visa was denied.

Thereafter she has travelled to US on two occasions on tourist visa for personal reasons. There is nothing illegal that she did. So do you thing we should be worried or is it ok? We already have FBI PCC clearance as well.

You'll be fine but make sure you disclose it.

Thanks but can it be a problem or its ok?
It's only a problem if you don't disclose it. I flagpolled/refused entry to USA when renewing second canada visa as well as having third canada work permit refused. It's all being explained.

Unless you were caught at the border with a suitcase of heroin, it won't be a problem.

Hi

I added my spouse as nominee (funds to be given to her after my death) to my bank account last month. Her name is appearing in the statement like this POD <spouse-name>.

POD means Payable Upon Death. The funds are accessible by spouse only upon my death and the person listed has no other privileges on the account as long as the primary is alive. I am planning to add explanation in LOE for POD. I have also managed to get link from bank website which says the account owner has full control over the money in the account and the entire money is available for their withdrawal. Is this explanation okay? Or will it cause any issues?

I can also add a affidavit from spouse saying that she has no objections to use money as required, although she doesn't have any control over the account. Would that be required?

Thanks.

If the spouse is acompanying then it's ok to have the money in a joint account without explanation, but I think just the LOE with the definition of POD and the account is just in your name would be enough.

Spouse is accompanying! thanks.

I looked at this month's statement this morning and I was really upset for making this change just last month. I did it as I was so concerned about having more money in the account without any nomination and my spouse will have to go through too many legal headaches to claim the money in case of something unfortunate.

Hi Guys,

Hope your doing well. Thank you for all the answers so far. I have one more question.

Once you are granted PR and lets say in couple of years you want to bring in your parents as permanent residents to Canada then is it possible? if yes then what is the procedure.
I do not have any siblings and I would like to consider the possibility to get my parents to Canada once they retire in couple of years..

TIA
