Hi Asivad, It's been six hours since i updated my profile and there has been no change to the points even after changing the educational tab. Is it possible that the system compares the professional degree with the relevant NOC or just that recent draw is keeping new changes on hold for a while? your take on this. Thank You
Sometimes it takes up to 24 hours for the score to reflect the changes you have made and 'transmitted'.

Hi asivad
I added the ielts point of my wife in my ee profile before getting ita
I didnt added her eca points

After getting ita i added the information about her eca also
Is there any harm in it??

No harm but you won't be credited any points for this as it wasn't part of the original profile that got you the ITA.

I have taken my reference letter from the company
I am currently working there but i dont have pay stubs as my salary comes in my account
Only reference letter is enough?

The reference letter alone would suffice if it has all the details required by CIC. Pay stubs are optional supporting documents.

Hi Asivad,
sorry to disturb you again!

Can you please suggest anything about following matter:

1. I work on ship. All of my voyages are stored in our government shipping office website. And anybody can check it to verify my entire career and work history. This is provided specially for potential employer to check the previous history. So it is possible to check my entire 12 years sea career with individual ship's name, but company name is not shown.Though there are some minor spelling mistakes in ship's name and wrong date in engagement and discharge date with one/two day error, Should I provide this link with supporting documents, as it will be the most authentic source to verify the experience because the source is from government website ?

You can definitely choose to provide this supplementary evidence and this would help in Personal history. But it probably won't help a lot with Work history because this data won't be helpful while confirming that you worked in the chosen NOC.

2. One of the companies I served have online company operation manual. For that company, my job responsibilities can be checked from online company operation manual where responsibility of each rank is mentioned in detail. I have the longest experience in this company. Should I provide a link for this? Because the reference letter is very brief. Will the information obtained from online have any value or consideration ?

Yet again, you can choose to provide this along with a short note of explanation highlighting why you're attaching this and where the officer can view the relevant information within the manual. Whether this would be considered relevant or not depends on the officer involved.

3. My biggest doubt still is about one year continuous employment. Though I have about 12 years of experience, I never worked continuously for 12 months. I have worked for different companies and for some company, employment duration was more than 2 calendar years. But because of job nature, I worked for 4/5 months on ship then again stay in vacation for 3/4 months and again join ship and so on. For some company, I received salary in vacation also and for some company, salary was continued only on board. However, accumulated sea service or on board time for each company was more than 12 months. I have found some information in Operation Bulletin 173 issued on January 8, 2010, about the clarification of continuous work and break in employment. But unfortunately, this one is expired. I could not locate the amended one.

Do you know is there any updated version of OB173? or do you have any suggestion how should I explain my situation or am I at all eligible for FSW ? I searched many threads to clear my doubt. But still I am confused.

I haven't been able to find any revisions to OB173 or any exceptions under EE-MI either for your specific case. Be that as it may, when you say that in some case your employment duration was more than 2 calendar years, if you implied that you had a 2 year work contract, that would still make you eligible for FSW. If you want to be reassured on this front, send a CSE (https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx) to confirm this. Before doing that, try creating an EE profile with your relevant information to confirm if the system deems you eligible automatically (if you haven't done that already).

Thank you

Dear Asivad,

I got ITA from yesterday's draw at 468..was at 447 and this was incremented by 21 more points only 1 day before the draw, after i obtained my french results...lucky me.

I am seeking your priceless advice on OINP..so, i was nominated and my application package reached OINP Office on 10 September 2015..as you can imagine, i have yet to receive AOR..

My question is can i still cancel the processing fee payment of $1,500 by contacting my bank...and in the event this is realisable, would that be negatively viewed even if i inform them of my ITA status .that way the $1,500 can be used for PR purposes.. $1,500 is not a small amount...

Grateful to have your insights..

With anticipated thanks..

They did tell you that the fee was non-refundable unless they returned your application as incomplete. It will surely be unethical (Illegal? Not sure) to ask your bank to stop payment or cancel the draft but some members on the forum have commented earlier that they sent a mail to OINP requesting for a withdrawal before the application processing could begin. You can try cancelling the draft at your bank - I'm not aware of any consequences but that doesn't mean there aren't any, it only means that I'm not aware - or requesting OINP to allow you to withdraw and not process the draft or the application.

This was always a 1500 CAD gamble.

It indeed was a gamble..

For me, as you mentioned, there is the ethics issue..

So this leaves me with emailing them and to request them to withdraw the application and to consider having the $1,500 draft unprocessed.

Thanks a lot Asivad for shedding some light.

Hi Asivad

Similar question/thought, I m also almost on the same boat..
I sent my application with 1500 $ to OINP. THen after few days got ITA. and accepted ITA and submitted formal PR application...
just yesterday, I ve receieved AOR from OINP... I was hoping for it will return but not happened..
Anyways , I m not worried with 1500 $...
Now ,, If my current PR application got rejected/cancelled for some reason , Do i have still chance/hope to get nominated from OINP atleast right...
to earn 600 additional points... (unfortunately my score went down below 450 with my last bDay)...
So, it s difficult with out PNP to get another ITA in next draws.......

Question - Does this OINP can nominate, if my current PR application got refused/cancelled..?
or do i need to create new profile again and start ?? It means, 1500 $ waste of money????

Hello Asivad,

You had always been very helpful. Thanks a lot for that. I have a few doubts while filling post ITA form.

1)I have transferred some money from my husband's account to our joint account. Do I need a self declaration from him. He is dependent applicant.

2)Also, my files are very large. Could you tell a tool to compress pdf files.I tried searching smallpdf.com.However, It is an online tool and I am worried my documents would be available online .

Thanks a ton.

Technically you are required to inform Ontario if you get a 'regular' ITA so that they can stop processing your application and 'pocket' the 1500 CAD fee. If you don't inform them and they send you a PN, you won't be able to utilize that because your current EE profile is locked and will remain locked regardless of what happens with your application. Your OINP application is linked with your old EE profile and it might be possible to request OINP to attach your PN to your new EE profile in case this application is refused by CIC. This is not definitely known because this hasn't been tested yet.

Preferably yes. Because this will show up as a large credit into your joint account and you need to convince CIC that this money isn't borrowed.

Hi Asivad,

Would you like to assist with some questions I have on work references please. I have a reference from my previous employer which I used for SINP and was addressed to Saskatchewan but do you think that I can still be use it when uploading ITA additional documents or I have to request for another one. Also with my current 3 months contract in Ireland, can my letter of contract be used as reference as it also states my roles and responsibilities.

Thanks

Hi asivad
I opened my account for pof last year in september
And I deposited complete required funds in it

I am sending them bank statement since this account was opened

Is there any problem when they see huge deposit in september 2014

The required funds are still stable since the account opened.
