Hi Asivad,

Can my mom apply for Visitor Visa while I wait for outcome of my PR application? My father has deceased and as a dependent I will be sponsoring her Visitor Visa. This will allow her to be Visa ready and travel with/soon after us (wife and I) once we get a PR application processed. Applying for Super Visa can take time after getting the PR so looking for other solutions. Thanks in advance.

Dev
Yes. That application will purely be processed on its own merits. Ensure that you show significant ties (family, finances etc) to their country of residence.

Thanks for your reply. I'm the only child so she doesn't have any immediate family other than me. And since I've already applied for PR it would not act as sufficient ties and perhaps even have negative impact. I doubt extended family will count, thoughts?

As for finances, she doesn't have any property on her name. For bank balance do we need to show 6 month statement? How much in your opinion would be sufficient funds in her account in addition to me sponsoring her visit? I have about 19k CAD in my account and my mom has about 6k CAD, though recent deposit from me. We can arrange for more funds in my moms account but then if 6 month statement is required we will have to explain it ?

Appreciate your time and advise.

Will be tough. But an LoE might be a good starting point.

Grey area. She will be classified as an immigrant risk unless there are substantial family/financial ties to the country of residence. $ 6000 is too low but I don't know what will be the 'right' amount.

Appreciate your time and advise.

I have two concerns, please help:

1. My WES assessment stated, "Four years of Professional study in Law" but I cannot find the equivalent in CIC website. Can I choose professional degree to pursue a license?

2. My partner is in FIFO status in his work, and the country where he is working does not provide PCC for non-residents. Will he be required to provide PCC?

Your thoughts are very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Check with WES to reassess your law degree so that they can give one of the following outcomes.
Bachelor of Laws
Juris Doctor
First professional university degree in law
First professional university degree in law, preceded by [x years] prerequisite undergraduate study
Which country is your partner in?

Thank you Asivad for your reply. My partner is working in Laos as a geologist. Do we have to submit PCC? Also, my partner is always visiting me here in Japan every 6 weeks after his roster, and his stay here in Japan totaled to more than 6 months but Japan I understand is aso not giving PCC for non-resident.

Thank you for your guidance.

Hi Asivad Anac Sir and Other seniors,

I am from India and I have received ITA on 9th March. My CRS Score is 478. I have query regarding POF. I dont have the required amount in my account right now. But my father is going to transfer that amount in my account. I will get the LOE for the same to show it as Gift Deed. I have one dilemma though, my father borrowed that money from his brother recently but he don't need to return that money. As you have stated earlier in one of the threads that I don't need to show bank statements of my father in my application, but I am worried that if by any chances CIC asks me for my father's bank statements then my application will be rejected. If my application is rejected then what are the chances that I will get another ITA or should I just decline this ITA and wait for another one.

Please help me, I shall be really thankful to you for this.

Congrats on your ITA!

CIC (IRCC) is not concerned about the origin of funds in the donor's account. So even if they ask for your father's bank statements, you can be rest assured that your application will not be rejected on this ground.

You can go ahead with the ITA, submit the Gift Deed, your bank statements, proof of transfer and an LOE.

From your timeline, I can see that you have already got the nomination and 600 points have been added to your CRS. So in your case, any drop in points due to age will not affect your application. Even if you were still awaiting the nomination from OINP, any drop in points would not have affected your nomination application as your score would still be above 400.

You'll need to submit an upfront PCC from Laos. For Japan, IRCC may ask your partner to get a PCC at a later date.

Thanks for the reply Stan, my points were reduced after marriage so its now down to 402 and in Dec this year I will be down to 397 so worried if CIC and OINP takes into account points reduction by age

Points loss due to age are not a problem if they happen after you get an ITA.
