Hi Asivad Anac, I have something to ask. :)

When you qualify for FSWP (passed the 67/100), are we still subjected to CRS? When I read the EE guidelines, it made me believe that YES we are still subjected to CRS. But if you think of it, one of the FSWP criteria is having arranged employment in Canada. Therefore prior to passing the 67/100 mark you should either have arranged employment or nothing at all.

Lets say you don't have arranged employment but you passed the 67 mark (remember passing 67 is easy, arranged employment only cost 10 points that is only 10% of the total FSWP). It would not make sense passing FSWP requirement and fail big time on CRS because of the -600 additional points (which is 50% of the CRS). Furthermore, they are requiring settlement funds in case you don't have an employer. So does this settlement fund makes up for your inability to find an employer?

TIA
Yes. POF is not required only if you are either invited under CEC or you have an LMIA supported job offer. Invariably, FSW applicants will have to show proof of funds.

Thanks for the reply. My point is, is FSW subjected to CRS? because FSW criteria does not require an arranged employment. If this is the case, it would drag down CRS scores for FSW applicants which gives them slim chance to have ITA.

Yes. CRS/EE is the immigration highway. FSW, CEC, PNP, FST are different vehicles/streams on that highway. You will have to take one of those to get in.

Look at it as a 2 step process. If FSW eligibility fails, you'll have to go through some other stream. If FSW eligibility is done, you'll have to wait to get picked up in a draw based on your CRS score.

Thank you for that information, at least it clarifies me now.

Do you have any idea why having an arranged employment is only 10% of FSW's criteria while it is 50% on the CRS. And to think that FSWP applicants does not really require an employer, hence, the situation can be like "you have high FSWP but very low CRS". If that is the case, FSW might not be effective.

Hi Asivad Anac, I have something to ask :)
After 3 month since receiving my AOR, my application status was changed to "In process" in July 28th, and I was asked to provide my resume and "Supplementary Information Request for Students form", which contains information regarding my field of study (in Canada), name of supervisor, thesis, and more importantly, what are my employment plans upon return to my home country! I have provided these info and today I received a ghost email from CIC regarding an update on my application (with no updates). I am a civil engineer working in Canada after my receiving my Masters in here.

I am starting to worry about my application. It's been 3 weeks since my application is in process and I don't know why they are asking for my plans upon return to my home country!
Do you think this is normal or something might be wrong with my application?

Many thanks!

Here's my timeline (CEC inland)
ITA: 17 April
AOR: 28 May
Medical: passed
Additional Document: Provided
ECAS: In process with 3 lines

The only allowable event is sending all individually required documents (in their own individual sealed envelopes) together in one master envelope to save on courier charges.

I imagine you'll have to create 2 separate forms on WES leading to 2 distinct reference numbers which need to be superscribed on the respective envelope as well.
That means i need to pay twice for creating 2 separate WES reference no. which is what I was thinking to avoid at first place. But is there any other option OR anything from your previous threads/experience which suggests an alternative wherein I can get my credentials + spouse credentials through a single reference no.?

Hi Asivad,

I got ITA yesterday and when filling the form its asking for my children passport, butmy two years old doesn't have a passport whilst the four years old passport expires in three months.

My question is do I wait and apply for their passports before I fill the form, which will then give me less time to gather documents needed or should I just answer no they don't have passports yet as there is an option for that.

Thanks in advance

I'm not entirely sure because I haven't done this myself but I imagine WES doesn't allow spouses to register together under 1 reference number - each applicant creates a unique profile.

No predictions where CIC is concerned but it appears your application is proceeding well. CIC asks for supporting documentation as and when they feel the need so don't fret about that.

You've chosen correctly. Now you can't do anything else except wait for CIC to respond.

Hi Asivad,

My CRS points is 427 & I have applied Express Entry SINP (PNP) on July 15th.

I have couple of questions, is there any chance of reaching draw 427 in next couple of draws??

Even SINP no change in status after 1 and half months. Do you know any specific time lines to process SINP.

I tried to increase my score by attempting 4 times ielts but no success.

Would please give your suggestion on my Points.

Thank you in advance

Hello Guys!!

I have a doubt in mind. I am applying under CEC. My 1 year of work finishes on Sep 29, 2015. Now when I create a profile, its prompting that I am eligible although my 1 year is not complete yet. Can I get in the pool and is that fine if I get ITA in Sep and I accept it before 29th. I can get all other documents ready and after 29th I will submit the work experience reference letter, in order to save some time. Would that cause a problem.
Please advise.

Cheers!

Got it ...thanks so much Asivad. This discussion is helpful. I have got my transcripts from DU and UPTU in a sealed envelop last week and most likely will courier to WES in a day or two. I will come back with more questions if I have but for now, I please accept my thanks for your quick guidance and responses.
