Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Having a discussion with my wife on what I should wear to my test. I am thinking casual and comfortable but my wife thinks that I should wear my Sunday best.

Any advice?

Business casual at least. Collar shirt, suit pants, and leather shoes. No jeans, shorts, slippers or T-shirts. It's like a job interview.

I went to my test directly from work, so I was dressed in business casual...dress shirt and pant.

You do not need to wear your Sunday best, just dress respectably. Jeans are OK too as long as they are not ripped or showing your butt crack or so baggy that you can fit 2 people in them.

Bottom line, use your conscience and dress respectably.

Dress for the interview. No need for a suit, but you want to give a good impression.

You are going for test, impress people with your knowledge and language skills. Dress whatever you want, just not pajamas.

lol very true. i almost stressed out thinking I would have to dress business casual or formal. It is a TEST not a job interview. I am going to talk and breeze thru the interview.

For the test you can wear whatever comfortable (within reason). But because there is an interview, I did dress up a bit (business casual). First impressions count and you don't want to want to show up to the interview looking like a slob that didn't put in any effort to look decent.

I went for my test straight from work in my greasy safety boots (slob). I didn't have time to dress up, people look at me like I'm alien but CIC officer told me that he will try go thru my application fast so I can go home. The interview last less than 4 minutes.

If we you were going to any citizenship test in any other country in the world you wouldn't have asked this question.

But now you are dealing with CIC.

This is CIC who caused so much fear and psychological problems for most of the applicants.

You have the right to ask what to wear, cause you must have heard so many senseless stories, and these stories wouldn't have spread if we were dealing with a proper department who respects the applicants who are expected to be citizens.

Reason for your question is that all the applicants including myself when did the test, were afraid to disturb the mood of the officer, cause from inside we know that the next steps will follow the mood of the officer interviewing us and unfortunately not a proper, respectful and organized approach.

I wish you all the best.

Business casual should be fine.
