Actually I don't understand how some applicants get test invite without LOT line appears in their e case. Is this due to:
1- Officer responsible for application processing doesn't update E case for those applicants.
2- This is new strategy by CIC to send test directly after in process line to save time and delay.
3- In process line means that application could be transferred to local office (left Sydney office), and thus some times not necessary to update E case by LOT line.

Please choose 1 or 2 or 3.
This question is really confusing for me...
Thanks in advance....

thanks a lot Miriam. I know what is written in website, so based on that, in process means that file was transferred to local office. So why some people get LOT update in E case while other don't.
so all in process applications have already been transferred to local offices to start IN PROCESS step

I haven't observed newer applications getting the LOT line, only the older ones - in accordance to the explanation provided on e-CAS.

I have no idea what CIC is thinking, or the reason behind their updating or not updating E-CAS. So I can't choose one of your options.

It just seems to me that E-CAS updating is erratic, at best. However, that doesn't seem to affect how documents and letters are sent to applicants. I'm a February applicant, and I had a LOT line for about a week or two, and then it permanently disappeared. I then received my test invitation about a month or two later, without any E-CAS update about it. My profile was updated to reflect "Decision Made" about two days after my test. Then about a month later it was updated to show that an oath invitation letter had been sent, and sure enough I got one the next day in the mail.

So I wouldn't worry about not having a LOT line, or what that might mean. You can still get your test letter, and things can still proceed with your application...whatever CIC's thoughts are vis-a-vis your E-CAS.
