I'm already 13 months in. May I ask how come you haven't applied for Mandamus since you're a 2020 applicant?
Applications for 2019 and 2020 are all delayed IRCC focused on 2021 and 2022 applications. And since they asked for FP, my application processing time doesn't goes under the 24 months, they consider that a non-routine based on the website and what the customer call centre told me.

Hi there! Yeah for sure let's keep each other updated. You can DM as well if you wish.

I found out about passing the security check through an ATIP request, and then got confirmation by a call center agent over the phone.

I got my fingerprints taken on Friday, but just like you and others, nothing has changed on my tracker (there's no mention of the FP request at all). It's all so mysterious and confusing so I'm trying not to stress too much.
They don't record the FP request on the recorder, the only thing that you can do after 3 business days you can check with RCMP to see if they send the document or not, and they will tell you, it may takes up to five business days for IRCC to get the paper (they send it via canada post)., Then you wait until the officer update your file.

Why IRCC requests Fingerprints? It's for background check?
There are different reasons, one of them they randomly selecting people. My theory is (at least for all the people that I know they request their FP), if you lived outside canada after getting your PR, or if they don't have your FP on file, they ask for it. Maybe I am wrong but that's my observation.

It looks like there are a lot of people on the same boat.

Passed the Citizenship Test in July and since then nothing else has been updated. Everything is in progress.

Around December I saw that my application was updated although there was no change.

What does that mean? Does anyone know?
Thank you

Just to update. I gave my fingerprints today Jan 26th at the RCMP office. To my surprise, I was told they will send the results of the processed fingerprints to me at my address and I will be the one to forward it to IRCC. They are not forwarding to IRCC. This is not the case with some other RCMP offices and others I have seen here. I will have to wait a couple of weeks (according to the officer) to receive the results in my mail and then forward to IRCC myself. I'm hoping this will come quickly so that i can get this behind me, I have just 3 weeks to get this IRCC as one week is gone already out of the 30 days

Why not use an RCMP approved agency? they send it directly to RCMP and RCMP sends it to IRCC

When I got mine last week, they gave me the option to receive them by mail or have them sent directly to IRCC. I think you'll be fine.

Thanks. I will just wait for it to come in the mail.

Going through the copy of the fingerprint form given to me, I realized that the RCMP Officer did not write my application reference number on the form. I just saw a part of IRCC request letter that says "ensure that file reference number is included on the fingerprint form". Infact, the officer never really looked at the IRCC request letter, he just waived it off and sounded like he's been doing it for a long time. I don't know if not putting the reference number on the fingerprint will be an issue or if this matters at all. Anyone with an experience with this?
