My PR card was due to expire so I renewed it. Took just over a month to receive it (paper application). I guess I just need to forget about citizenship for a while. Checking the tracker multiple times a day is rather stressful. The next Major challenge is passport expiring this year. I don't want to renew it unless I have to.

I sent my PR Card Renewal application as well in December 2022. Got the acknowledgement on January 5, 2023. Although it will not help, but I am hopeful PR Card Renewal application might bring the UCI of the applicant into the limelight and that will bring the citizenship application in the limelight as well.

Let's see. BTW, you can check the status of your pr card application on ecas. Decision made means approval. Then takes a couple of weeks to print and another week to receive it.

Took only one month? I saw online it said 90 days or something, that fast? Then I should renew mine too, I lost my pr card 3 months ago and I didn't renew it waiting for the citizenship but I guess I may need to renew it because I need to travel in summer.

when I lost my pr card, I called them also hoping they would look at my citizenship and make it move forward but they confirmed with me that it's in process and that's all. No new movement.

Yes, got it quickly. I did send it in a fancy card envelope (all I could find). Perhaps they gave it special treatment because of that! I regret applying for citizenship online.

I believe P renewals by paper are faster than online right now. I will be applying as well sooner.

At this point I don’t think there is difference between paper or online citizenship because both of can be delayed due to security clearance. Hopefully we all get our citizenship sooner.

I applied through paper in jan 2021 and still not done, oath not started, so it s more the luck of which agent/centre you end up with than the medium it seems. Best of luck to you~

Do you know if applying renewing pr card by paper or online will affect the processing time to get the pr card? I checked the processing time it says 80 days but you got your pr card after a month, I'm thinking whether I should apply online or paper. Do you have any idea? Why didn't you apply online but went for paper application?

My friend applied by paper and received it quickly so i decided to do the same. Took us both around 40 days including mailing. It’s your choice. Maybe we got lucky.

Hi, Just received ATIP, where the last update on 10/5/22 was that 'Due to processing delays resulting from covid 19 criminality clearance was expired and reinitiated. Client will be requested to resubmit new finger prints for application to proceed.'

1 - ATIP says Security: __ (blank) and Criminality: In Progress. The due date for the Oct 5 update is Dec 19 but noone reached out to me yet. My first Fingerprints were received in March and BG cleared but the FP search date was in mid Feb 2022. It will expire next month.
2- BG re-opened to In Progress on Oct 5, 2022 but no contact from IRCC.

Is there a way to ask IRCC for the FP request email so I can provide the new set of FP for the file to move forward??

see signature for full timeline.

I think you can try to email the email that give you the invitation for taking citizenship exam? Telling them your situation.
