Terminated from work while on implied status

I applied for PR in April 2024, after receiving my PNP under critical worker stream in PEI and my work permit expired in June 2024 so the closed work permit extension was applied a week before the work permit was expired and it has been 8 months since that application is under process.

I am the main applicant and my spouse is my dependent who was also on the same PR and work permit application and was supposed to receive open work permit.

But just today I was terminated from the employer who was supporting my work permit and also the PNP was tied to that employer.

I am stressing out and looking to see what are my options before I talk to the PNP office after the long weekend.

Thank you for reading.

You may be given time to find another employer.

Thanks for the response.

Do you know what happens to the work permit application that is ongoing from 8 months and it is still in progress?
Is it for your previous employer? If so employer will pull the LMIA and it should get cancelled. It is a closed WP so you can’t work if there is no job.

It was not an LMIA, it was closed work permit based off of PNP support letter and PR application still being in progress so not sure what happens in that scenario. Someone was telling me that if my work permit application is still in progress then the condition of my previous work permit apply to me right now and my previous work permit was open PGWP

so you have to stop working, inform IRCC and your employer will assume pull their support.
