I am currently in my first year of study at University in England and I have decided to defer my second year of study in order to work in Canada and gain the relevant experience within Toronto.
I have began my visa application and alerted the University of my plans however I missed the deadline to apply for IEC and therefore cannot complete my application for a temporary working visa of up to 12 months.
Please can anyone advise on how I can still work in Canada for up to 12 months, starting this June?
Thank you in advance for any advice and support.

If you have missed out on IEC and want to start working in Canada this year, then you will have to find an employer in Canada who is willing to offer you a job. That employer will then have to obtain an approved LMO (labour market opinion) to prove that the job was advertised and they couldn't find a Canadian to hire or train for the role. If the LMO is approved, you can then apply for a work permit. So the first step is to find an employer in Canada...

Hi i'll be very thankful if someone can help me in this i'm not from a visa exempt country i have a single entry visit visa of Canada and multiple entry visa of US. In feb 2013 i was in canada where i got a job offer and employers also provide me with a positive LMOnow i'm un US to meet my family and planning to go back to canada as i can re-enter again on single entry if i just visit US. I'll be flying to edmonton airport my question is this that can i just ask to change my status from visitor to worker at the port of entry on the aiport? is this possible that they can give me that? has anybody have any experience of doing this?
