Has anyone been nominated through a PNP and while submitting PR application to IRCC simultaneously submitted an application for temporary work permit for accompanying dependents? What was the outcome?
Only spouses qualify for dependent work permits. Your daughter does not qualify for a work permit. We applied through SINP, we’re currently here on work permits. My husband on a closed and I’m on an open work permit. Our dependent daughter is not in Canada but will like to have a temporary work permit while our application is being processed.
If she can work, she's not dependent on you. Is she?We applied through SINP, we’re currently here on work permits. My husband on a closed and I’m on an open work permit. Our dependent daughter is not in Canada but will like to have a temporary work permit while our application is being processed.

She's a dependent if she is under 22 and not married/common-law, regardless of whether she works or not.If she can work, she's not dependent on you. Is she?
She is a dependent.I was hoping that she could apply for a temporary work permit and wait out the PR process here with us.
Thank you you so much for taking the time to respond. I am grateful. She is a dependent.
However dependent children do not qualify for open work permits based on their parents' application. If she wants to work in Canada, she will need to secure a job offer and approved LMIA so that she can apply for a closed work permit.
