well another question...as proof of funds can gold be requested as POF.my all savings are in gold thought it wd be wires if i dont sell it?

no ONLY Cash / Demand Draft/ canadian bank statement or TC is allowed as POF. Unfortunately Gold cannot be shown as POF

u can carry any amount from outside to Canada, u wont be taxed for taking in. but u need to declare at the port of entry if its more than CAD 10,000 per head.

Am trying to understand the procedure.i have no immediate plan for coming back but my mom is SERIOUSLY ill..-and just in case i have to come back to see her or God forbid...!my coming back if required will be of short period..may be not more than 2months.i hope i dont be in any situation that asks for returning back to my home country even for shortest of while.
