Hi,

Can someone advise the process for obtaining a TRP for travel from the UK, I have a DUI conviction 4.5 years ago and have been refused an eta.

I wrongly assumed that when the eta was refused I'd have the option of applying for a TRP but no information has been given on the refusal. I've searched the internet high and low for an application form or some details but I can't find a thing and came across this forum as a last hope.

I've considered going to the embassy in London but it says it doesn't accept visitors, I've rung them but it's an answerphone, I've tried to make a Visitor Visa application but it just directs me to the eta application. I'm not sure why it's so difficult?

Also does anyone know how long the applications take to process, I see that currently they're on 7 days for TRV's.

Thanks for any help in advance.

With a DUI believe you have to wait until 5 years are up and then apply for rehabilitation. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5312ETOC.asp

The ETA is just an authority to board a plane and not a visa so can only assume you ticked the box for a conviction hence the refusal given with the DUI you would be inadmissable at least until the 5 years were up.
