Hello Experts,

1. First of all, just trying to understand if both Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) and Visitor Visa are same. Or, is TRV same as Super Visa?

2. I wanted to apply for a Visitor Visa for my parents and I see the following required documents in the application. It would be great if you could throw some light on them:

2.1. Proof of Means of Financial Support:

2.1.1. Are last 4 months of bank statements from my parents enough? How much amount should that be if they’re coming for a 2-month visit?

2.1.2. Should I also show my bank statements along with my parents’ bank statements since I am the one who is inviting them to visit?

2.2. Purpose of Travel – Other:

2.2.1. IRCC says the following are some examples – Your flight ticket departing Canada, Your travel itinerary (e.g. places you will visit or stay, such as hotel booking), Proof of a medical appointment. Since, they are just coming to visit me and the tickets cannot be booked until the visa is approved, what should we provide in this case?

2.3. Client Information:

2.3.1. Any suggestions of what could be provided here based on IRCC’s suggestion (If you would like to provide more information about your application that you have not already provided, you can attach a letter of explanation to your application). They are providing the documentation of their properties in India. What else could be provided here to show solid documentation?

2.4. Proof of Relationship:

2.4.1. Form: Schedule 1 - Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside Canada (IMM 5257) (You must provide a Schedule 1 declaration. A Schedule 1 declaration is a form with questions about your personal history. You will be asked to list information such as any affiliations with organizations and any military or government service.) This is an optional document in the application but my parents doesn’t have any affiliations now, though they worked in a Public Service sector before retirement. Should we provide anything here or leave it blank?

Thanks for all your help!

Hello Experts,
1. First of all, just trying to understand if both Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) and Visitor Visa are same. Or, is TRV same as Super Visa?
TRV and Visit Visa are the same. - Applicants can stay up to 6 months. The applicants will be assessed for the visa.
Super Visa - The visit can be up to 2 years. The PR sponsor will be assessed if he/she can financially support the parents' stay in Canada.
The 4 months statement is enough since the Visa Officer (VO) wants to check the in and out cash flow. I have no idea what the ideal amount that your parents should have. The VO sees to it that the trip to Canada is not just an added expense and would burn the savings of your parents.
2.1.2. Should I also show my bank statements along with my parents’ bank statements since I am the one who is inviting them to visit?
You can, but it does not have bearing since for Visit Visa/TRV your parent's financial situation is the one being assessed. Their capability for the trip. You can only assure on the invitation that you will support their expenses in Canada.
You can check out Expedia or other similar sites that provide flight itinerary. Another option is a screenshot of the desired travel dates on the website of your chosen airline.
As for the day to day. You can simply list down the day, activity or site to visit.
Example:
Day 1 Arrival in Canada
Day 2 - 4 Rest/Sleep/ Overcome Jetlag
Day 5 - 8 Visit Niagara Falls
2.3. Client Information:
2.3.1. Any suggestions of what could be provided here based on IRCC’s suggestion (If you would like to provide more information about your application that you have not already provided, you can attach a letter of explanation to your application). There is no format for the letter of explanation. To me, it is more of talking directly to the VO and just stating the reasons why the applicant wants to visit Canada and why visit the places he/she already indicated on the day to day itinerary. Another usage of this is if you think you need to explain some information. Example : I attached here the an affidavit that my parents are married as they have no registered marriage certificate.
I mean no point to attach land titles and properties as you will attach these on the category Proof of Funds https://imgur.com/gallery/69S9I
2.4. Proof of Relationship:
2.4.1. Form: Schedule 1 - Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside Canada (IMM 5257) (You must provide a Schedule 1 declaration. Thanks for all your help!
Just answer the form even if you don't have any affiliations.

Thanks @kat3onah for the detailed explanation! :)

Should the itinerary be a confirmed one or can I just show sample dates and print it?

Also, as far as the Proof of funds are concerned, can they show a letter from Bank that states they're maintaining so and so balance since the last 4 months or should that be Bank statements specifically?

For itineraries of from an airline websites, better screen capture the planned itinerary. So that the VO will see that these flights are legit and schedule came from the airline website. As for Expedia, you can book itineraries without checking out and paying them. I mean you just need the itinerary.

I think better if bank statements. I also don't have paper bank statements. When I applied for a TRV last April, I accessed my bank online and just made a screen shot of the ins and outs transactions for a period of 4 months.
