Dual intent is allowed (i.e. you can have a PR application in process and still apply for a visitor visa/study permit/work permit). The key is to satisfy the visa officer that you will leave at the end of your visit. It appears the visa officer did not have concerns that you will overstay(since you have had a Canadian visa before). Being unmarried has nothing to do with the refusal, for the same reason that you've been to Canada and left on time.

So the issue is they could not see a legitimate purpose for your travel. What was the business about? What were you going to do? Is it something that could only be done in Canada? Did the company(your employer) stand to benefit greatly from the skills your will acquire at this meeting/conference? Did your employer give you a letter explaining the purpose of this visit? Was this business visit something you could acquire skills which can be helpful to your own professional development( i.e. for example: if you have been a businessman for 10 yrs, but you want to attend a conference on how to start a business/sustain a business, then it does not make sense. Because with those many years of experience, the visa officer will be of the opinion, you are already qualified to do all that, so no real "legitimate purpose" of attending this conference). This is just an example, I'm not saying this is what happened in your case.

If you are self-employed, then did you provide everything mentioned above?
Thanks for your help/suggestions. Really appreciate ur concern.

i would like to answer all ur queries one by one :-
1) Out off 11 reasons for refusal, i was just crossed/ticked for 1. ( don't no should be happy or sad about it ) . The reason was " that you donot have a legitimate business purpose in canada ". Purpose of visit was not crossed i.e they were okay with the purpose of my visit.
2) Business : i work in an import & export company as a 'sales and marketing manager".
3) we ( myself and my director ) were supposed to visit the exhibitions as ATTENDEE inorder to expand our business of import and export in canada. we were supposed to meet Canadian exhibitors for business expansion.
4) as per my previous experience i use to hold exhibitions for my previous client abroad inorder to promote there business.
5) Purpose of visit: in covering letter we did mention that we were into import and export business and would like to expand our business, meet exhibitors and look for new horizons

The reason for refusal ( NO LEGITIMATE BUSINESS PURPOSE IN CANADA) i can think of is that :- That my designation in the company was " SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER " and the major duties of a sales guy is to look after domestic sales and marketing they thought that ATTENDING EXHIBITION WAS NOT A MAJOR DUTY OF MY JOB PROFILE " so they marked it . Correct me if i am wrong ( just a wild guess).

Also Like mention that i had applied for caips report and as per law they got to mention details why they refused my visa but it also had the same pre-formated line " no legitimate Purpose to travel " and no details what made the visa officer think otherwise
