If i were you , I would apply for "Extend to stay as a visitor" ( this is not TRV- as pr cic) . But you wont be able to work after your PGWP is expired . And also ensure you are not leaving canada while u are on implied status ( be it work permit or TRV ot extnd to stay) as you said your TRV has already expired.

And about bridging your work permit with AOR- its a long shot - 1st You have to receive an ITA and you have to submit the doc . I heard time frame to receive AOR is different for every case .The "AOR " you need to apply for BOWP is the second one, not the 1st automated one that you receive moments after you submit your PR application.

How about LMIA and PNP application. Have you applied any ???

You dont need to show any proof of fund . I dont remember how much it cost. Type EXTEND TO STAY AS A VISITOR in cic page and u will find all the details . 1st it was confusing for me . This is entirely difrnt from a visitor visa. One has to apply for this extnd to stay if he or she is waiting for their PR or PNP. But you have to provide and explanantion letter that is resonable,like waiting for pr results or pnp results ... have u applied for pnp or lmia

I didn't get the invitation for PNP yet ?

and the LMIA my company HR worked on it but after all the struggle they decided the company may not go for LMIA

Then it would be tough call . Which province are you from .all you can do is apply for work permit ( which is definitey would be an incomplete application and would be rejected )and work until it get rejected and mean while hop to get an ITA .
Or apply for extend to stay visa .. again not sure about the outcome as you wont have a strong reason to show ....as you are waiting for both pnp and pr invitation

Well i was in the same situation in july ... only dofrnce was i had submitted bc pnp application and was waiting for the results ... now on extnd to stay visa .. implied status ..
