Temporary resident visa along with study permit

Hiii friends......I need a small advice regarding TRV. I am going to apply for my study permit in next month. Do I need to apply for TRV(form IMM5257B) along with my study permit application or it should be applied while studying???

I am from India sir. my consultant insisted me not to fill IMM5257B form and they said that it will be applied once i get work permit there in canada

If you are an Indian Citizen then you certainly need to fill out IMM5257B.

Dear Friend,

Firstly TRV stands for Temporary Residence Visa.

Before we start, remember you need a Visa to get in to any country.

So for Study permit application of Canada, you will be applying for a TRV with it. The study permit will be issued on the airport when you land. The first thing you will get is the TRV stamped on your passport.

When you apply for study permit it is the same thing..

Student visa or TRV is what goes in your passport so you can travel to Canada (without it you can not buy an airplane ticket for example)... Your study permit is the document issued at the port of entry which allows you to stay and study in Canada...

You should fill everything that comes in the application package corresponding to your country of residency...

Citizens of certain countries may require a TRV in order to travel to Canada.

A TRV is an official document issued by an officer that is placed in your passport to show that you have met the requirements for admission to Canada as a temporary resident.

If you need a TRV, you do not have to complete a separate application or pay additional fees. It will be issued by the officer at the same time as the documents you need for your entry to Canada as a student;

Find out if you need a TRV or check Appendix A – Temporary Resident Visa Exemptions for more information on persons who are exempt from obtaining a TRV to come to Canada.

As they said that there is no need to fill another separate application for TRV( IMM5257B). I am thinking to leave it .

Please advice me if I am wrong.

Hi, that's a total of 3 persons asking you to fill it out.

The bold text means that when applying for a Student Visa, it will take care of the TRV, it will be considered a single application which will cost you $150 for both but that does not mean you won't have to fill out IMM5257B.

Guys I applied from Kuwait thro VFS when I submitted my application for sp they didn't ask me about that form and even when they received the form from me they didn't tell me there is such a missing form also I asked the, do there any missing papers they checked with thier work list and told me now . I got a work list from the, before applying mentioning that i might be asked upon the request of the VO to fill in that form Imm5257B even online I checked the work list of CIC there no mention for THAT FORM I APPLIED ON 13th of April does that make a delay to response? Also I got A trv before and it is valid for 5 years as a vistor I AM VERY WORRIED PLz help ??? :-[ What shoudl I do plzz helppppp

Please I have a question as regards visitor visa.....I did an upfront medical exams before submitting application online but after a month of submission , am told to do Medicals .....is that a mix up or something. I have contacted the Panel physician where the Medicals was conducted and am told they had posted the results to the cic portal about 3 weeks ago. Kindly advise if there's a contact via email or phone to clarify what I should submit again. I applied from Nigeria.

you should send a Case especific inquiry to your visa office and let them know about this.... also attach any reference numbers you have... let them know where and when you had medical examinations.... must have been an error from visa officer
