Temporary resident restoration refused. What now?

My girlfriend (33 years old) who is originally from Australia has been living with me in Saskatchewan, Canada since November 2015, most of that time under a temporary resident visa. We have taken all the proper measures and have not broken any rules in regards to her visa and her stay here.

She just had her temporary resident visa restoration refused and was told she must leave Canada immediately. Our goal is to have her eventually become a permanent resident of Canada. My questions are:

How long does she have to leave for?
What type of status should she apply for to come back to canada? and roughly how long will the application take? (we are willing to apply for common law if that helps)
If her next application gets denied, can she still come to Canada as a visitor?
And most importantly, what do we do to get her back to Canada in as short a time as possible?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As an Australian, she would have been here as a visitor, not on a TRV. And if she was applying for Restoration, that means she went out of status. You need to provide more info. Has she been extending her visitor status since 2015? Why did she need to apply for Restoration? When did her status expire? Why did you not apply for sponsorship years ago?

She arrived Nov 2015 as a visitor
Before the 6 month visitor period expired she got a temporary resident permit
she has had the temporary resident permit twice
she then applied for a work permit and got refused
so she applied for restoration of her temporary resident permit, which was just refused today.

We were not aware of any sponsorship options when she came here (is this still an option?), but we would now like her to live here with me as a permanent resident or whatever option is available. She is going to leave as per the instructions in her refusal letter, but we want her to come back ASAP and eventually become a permanent citizen.

A Temporary Resident Permit is for people who are inadmissible to Canada but have compelling reasons to be here.

Did she have a TRP?

Yes she had a temporary resident permit which she extended twice for 12 months each time. While she was under a temporary resident permit she applied for a work visa which was denied (she made the mistake of applying for open when it should have been closed work permit). Her TRP expired nov 4th 2017, however she was told to send her restoration within 90 days and keep applied status until the verdict which came today.

I'm not sure, all I know is that the person we spoke to on the phone from immigration told us that she should apply for a TRP to be able to stay in Canada after her 6 month visitor period expired.

How would she qualify for a TRP if she is not inadmissible at all? Did she commit any crimes? As far as i know TRP is only for applicants who are denied entry to Canada due to criminally inadmissible.

That makes no sense. A visitor must apply for a visitor extension. As already said, a TRP is for inadmissible people.

Thank you for the replies, I just realized it was actually a temporary resident VISA, not a permit. My apologies for the confusion!

That still is not right. A TRV is an entry visa required for non visa-exempt people to board a commercial carrier to travel to Canada. It has nothing to do with status and Australians can't apply for it anyways.

You really need to look at the documetns and find out what is going on.
